图中给出了炉体结构示意图,由炉架、炉壳、炉衬、炉门装置、电热元件及辅助装置构成。炉架的作用是承受炉衬和工件的负载,通常由型钢焊接成一框架,外包钢板。炉壳的作用是保护炉衬,加固电炉结构和保持电炉的密封性,常用钢板复贴在钢架上焊接而成,设计合理的炉架和炉壳应具有足够强度。小型箱式电阻炉也可不设炉架,用厚钢板焊接成炉壳,也可起到炉架的作用。

炉衬的作用是保持炉膛温度、减少热量损失。良好的炉衬材料不仅要有一定的耐火度、抗急冷急热性,而且蓄热量还要少。炉衬由耐火材料和保温材料组成,靠近电热元件是耐火材料,紧靠外壳的是保温材料。为了减少热量损失,一般高温箱式电阻炉的炉衬采用三层隔热设计,内层采用耐火材料,如高铝砖砌的耐火层;中间层和外层采用保温材料,如用轻质

薪土砖、硅藻土粉、蛙石粉或纤维制品等。中温箱式电阻炉炉衬由轻质耐火砖和硅酸铝耐火纤维等轻质耐火、保温材料砌成,在靠近炉壳的一层填充有蛙石粉。由于低温箱式电阻炉的温度较低,耐火层、保温层的材料要求不高,采用一般的耐火砖和纤维都可满足要求。

炉门装置包括炉门及锁定保护装置,要求炉门装置应该密封良好,减少热损。炉门一般用铸铁或钢板制成,在炉门开启装置上安装有安全限位开关,并与加热控制电源关联,炉门开启时切断控制电源,以便保护操作者的安全。为了便于观察炉腔内的加热情况,在炉门中央通常设计有观察孔。

箱式电阻炉的电热元件常采用碳化硅棒、二硅化铝或金属合金。碳化硅棒加热温度可达1350`C,垂直或水平安装在炉腔的两侧,有的炉子安装在炉腔的顶部和底部。二硅化铂最高可达1600℃,但经加热后变得很脆,故通常嵌在耐火材料的凹槽内,以防止在装取工件时碰坏。二硅化钥高温工作后存在蠕变伸长的问题,安装长度应小于凹槽的长度,两端留有一定的空间。相比之下金属合金电热元件在加工、安装和使用方面较为方便,合理布置也能得到较好的温度均匀性。目前温度小于1000℃的箱式电阻炉大都采用金属或金属合金电热元件。有关电热元件的知识在后面章节中陆续讲到。
