促销信(Sales Letter)的目的就是要推销产品或服务,使读者对产品或服务产生兴趣,引起他们的购买欲望。因此促销信一开头就要抓住读者的吸引力。练习中两封促销信都用问句开头,以引起读者的注意,例如:

* Can your typist turn out 200 perfect copies an hour? With the Plain Paper Auto-Copier they can!* Are you experiencing problems with calculating tax returns for your clients?
