These days we read a book, the book's name is Tuesdays with Morrie.This book is about a true story.An old man , a young man , and life’s greatest leon.This life’s leon difference is that they frankly talk about life and frankly face the lo of life.The old profeor is about to lose his life and young student will lose his old profeor forever.His teacher’s name is Morrie and he is a profeor of sociology.Morrie suffering from a incurable illne.He can even estimate their own dead date.Mitch is a writer and a reporter.Sixteen years ago he was Morrie’s student.Every Tuesday, Mitch plane flying seven hundred miles to see his profeor.This course teaches the fourteen weeks and the last cla is Morrie's funeral.It has a theme for each week.I want to talk about the fourth Tuesday, It is about death.Everyone will die and everyone knows they’re going to die.I think everyone will talk about this topic, especially a lot of wisdom elderly.Most of them will say that I am not afraid of death.But Morrie did not say.“To know you’re going to die, and to be prepared for it at any time.That’s better.That way you can actually be more involved in your life while you’re living.”(81)And he repeated the sentence: “Once you learn how to die, you learn how to live.”(82)Calm accept the fact of death and enjoy moments alive now.This is Morrie’s attitude towards death.He did not focus on the death, but on the death of the previous years of valuable alive.He did not focus on the death and he put the focus on the precious time now.This reminds me of myself as a child.When I was in the 2nd grade, my grandfather died.When my mother took me to the mourning hall and said to me to kneel down and say goodbye to Grandpa.I timidly looked up to see grandpa lying there quietly.I kept asking my mother grandfather where to go? I know the kind of grandfather never came back and can no longer call my nickname, I finally crying.No matter whether you are ready, everything will end one day.I understand everyone's life will end.I am very sad.Gradually I grew up, I also know that death is inevitable, we have to face it bravely.By reading this chapter, I am more deeply aware of the preciousne of life.Appreciate the good times, live one day at a time.Next, I would like to discu the eighth Tuesday ,it’s about money.“If you’re trying to show off for people at the top ,forget it, They will look down at you anyhow.And if you’re trying to show off for people at the bottom, forget it.They will only envy you.Status will get you nowhere.Only an open heart will allow you to float equally between everyone.”(Albom 127)This is Morrie said to Mitch.This paage reveals to us the importance of doing their own.We don’t need to show off for people!Morrie did not ask us to cast aside or despise money.He did not exclude the pursuit of money and material, but he's like a Chinese philosopher: to emphasize a degree.It is really very important.When we spend time to fight for their own material benefits, we should calm down and think about whether we really need as we imagine it.He also said “Do the kinds of things that come from the heart.When you do, you won’t be diatisfied, you won’t be envious, you won’t be longing for somebody else’s things.On the contrary, you’ll be overwhelmed with what comes back.”(Albom 128)These are old profeor with his life experience to tell us and I think we should keep in mind.Because the modern society advocating money first.In our country, many parents hope that their children will be able to earn a lot of money and my parents are no exception.So many people kept working and become a slave of money.Now, I have not worked but I realized that life is not all work and we need more time to enjoy life.Finally we talk about marriage.Morrie said: “If you don’t respect the other person , you’re gonna have a lot of trouble.If you don’t know how to compromise, you’re gonna have a lot of trouble.If you can’t talk openly about what goes on between you , you’re gonna have a lot of trouble.And if you don’t have a common set of values in life, you’re gonna have a lot of trouble.Your values must be alike.”(Albom 149)This topic I should be the most were not eligible to perception of people, because I do not have marriage, but I witneed my parents' marriage.In my opinion, marriage is not a personal things.Keep a good marriage requires two people to work together and mutual tolerance, understanding etc.On the other hand, I think modern social women need to have economic independence and shared family responsibilities with her husband.Then the husband and wife can get real long-term happine.Speaking of my parents, they have been married for twenty years.Until now they are still very affectionate.When at home, my mom always point out his bad habits But if in front of other people, she always said that my dad is a good husband.When I was young I don't know why my mother to do so.Later, I understand, this is a mother's love for Dad.Sometimes they will quarrel and they do not speak to each other.But the next day after work, my father came home always get small gifts to apologize to my mother.I gue, a long marriage need each to tolerate.Old profeor is dead.We feel very sad.But his ideology was still in the diemination.After reading this book, it has a great impact on own lives.We just talked about the three weeks of the contents of the book.No matter what life has given people suffered, we should all be optimistic.We should take a calm state of mind to face death.Albom , Mitch.Tuesdays with Morrie.New York;First Broadway Books.2001.
