哈佛拥有9座博物馆，它们既为教学服务，又向公众开放。最值得参观的要数植物学博物馆。在这里，瑞士的龙胆草伴随着墨西哥的仙人掌，埃及的蓝睡莲映衬着朝鲜的金达莱，还有中国的梅花和牡丹。名花奇卉约有800多种，色彩鲜艳而且永不谢，原来它们是植物的玻璃模型，俗称“玻璃花”，由两位德国艺术大师穷毕生精力制成，是世界上的绝品，人们誉之为“科学中的艺术奇迹，艺术中的科学奇迹”。
