As is shown in the table above, dramatic changes have taken place in family expenses in the City of Shanghai within two decades(from 1980 to 2000).The most obvious change is in expense on food and clothing, which has dropped by 48%, while those on recreation, education and health care have increased respectively by 5%, l6% and l0%.Expenses on other things keep rising from 17% to 35%.The statistics of rise and fall seem to exist in isolation but are in fact closely related to one another.The most likely factors accounting for these changes are as follows:

Development in economy is the fundamental one.The increased income results in the lowering percentage of food and clothing.That is to say, a small percentage of the total income is enou5h to cover food and clothing expenses.Another factor lies in the development of people’s concept.When people are well fed and well dreed, they begin to interest themselves in recreation and education.These changes should also be attributed to social reforms.In the 1990’s, college education was not totally free as it was before, which also accounts for the rising expenses on education.Soon after, the government gradually stopped offering houses to its citizens without charges.People had to save a large proportion of their money for housing.That’s partly why the expenses for ’’others’’ doubled.As for the more expenses on health care, I figure there are two main reasons: the cancellation of free medical care and people’s awarene of the importance of health.The changes reflect the development of the city and indicate that people are enjoying more.2.对比选择（1）

Nowadays, with the rapid development of information technology, online shopping has gained great popularity among more and more web users.For example, it is fashionable for youngsters to purchase daily eentials, such as books, clothes, electrical equipment, on some famous website, like Taobao, EBay and Alibaba.Undoubtedly speaking, online shopping has many advantages.Firstly, compared with traditional shopping, it’s very convenient.What you need to do is just clicking your mouse and waiting instead of going out by foot or driving.Secondly, more choices than real store are another attraction to customers.However, in spite of convenience and more choices of online shopping, we cannot turn a blind eye to its disadvantages.Obviously, quality problem is its first disadvantage.It’s common that articles aren’t so good just as they are described online that customers always buy fake commodities.In addition, it’s troublesome and annoying for many customers to make a change when they are not satisfied with what they bought online.As a college student, I like online shopping but I expected that effective measures should be taken to make it better。Specifically speaking, government should work out strict regulations and rules to prevent unfaithful and unlawful activities of online shop owners.Only by this way can online shopping become really safe and attract an increasing number of customers.现象解释（2）

In recent years, college students find it increasingly difficult to get a job.It sounds strange since young college students are usually intelligent, well-educated and eager to bring their talent into full play.Then what underlies the strange phenomenon?

There are several reasons for this.To begin with, nowadays college students aim too high.All they want are “good” jobs which could offer good salary, comfortable working conditions, high social status among others.Consequently, most college students are unwilling to accept vacant jobs they consider not “good” enough.Another reason is that there is a big gap between the majors some students study in school and the demands of vacant jobs.So companies think some students are not fit for the jobs.Solution to the problem requires efforts on both the society and the students.The companies should value the students, talent and knowledge while the latter should not merely aim at material gains.They should be down-to–earth in building up their career.Furthermore, they should face their weak points so as to improve themselves and be more competent.
