Mi Emily Grierson’s death drew the whole town’s attention.All the people came to her funeral in her big house, into which almost no one had stepped once except her servant.When she was alive, she was asked to pay taxes.She turned down firmly because of the former mayor’s promise that she needn’t pay any tax until she die.But in fact the former mayor had died many years ago.She also vanquished the meeting of the Board of Aldermen 30 year ago about the smell in her house.After her father’s death and her sweetheart’s leave, she scarcely stepped out the house.No one wanted to disturb her, but the smell was terrible and intolerable, so some people went her house and sprinkled lime there to dispel it.People believed it was her father’s corpse which caused the smell.And then, many were sympathy about poor Emily.She was always arrogant even though she was fallen.She once went to the shop to buy some poison and the druggist sold to her in the end.People gueed she would suicide, but then they believed she would marry Homer Barron.After the man sent away Emily’s sisters, he went back to her house and no one saw him again.After Emily’s death, people found a room in her house, which no one had seen before.There is a man skeleton lying on the bed with the post of hug and on the second pillow was the indentation of a head.They also found a strand of iron-gray hair which must be Emily’s.
