Is Military Training Neceary Now?

There is no denying the fact that it has been a hotly debated topic whether students should attend military training in China in the past years.Opinions on this iue differ sharply.Pro：

I believe that military training is a must for today’s spoiled youth.First of all, it makes them more likely to persist instead of escaping in face of hardships.Second, the self-discipline and teamwork spirit students develop are invisibly valuable wealth for their future.third, it provides a good chance for students to learn more on military and broaden their horizons.Forth,it can nurture students’ sense of unity and discipline and foster students’ patriotism as well.Fifth,military training as a good chance for students coming from different cities to know and help each other, which will help them ease the feeling of homesickne.Con:

I maintain that it is not and should be canceled.First of all, it is a waste of time because what the students learn from it is of no use to their real life.Second, the training seems ineffective since most students resume their idling lifestyles at the end of the training.Third,a short period of training as students are having now cannot work well in building up their bodies or strengthen their will.Instead, they should lay emphasis on their daily exercise and activities for such purpose.Forth,a sudden increase of intense physical exercise, especially during summer, does harm to students’ health and may even cause deaths.What happened in the past years has proved this.Fifth, student also worry about the safety due to the increasing cases of students who got injured or died in it.
