什么是三重底线?
1997年,国际可持续发展权威、英国学者约翰·埃尔金顿（John Elkington）最早提出了三重底线的概念，他认为一个企业何以能持续发展，立于不败之地？
我认为最重要的，不是只想着如何实现盈利的最大化，而是始终坚持三重底线原则，或称作三重盈余，即企业盈利、社会责任、环境责任三者的统一。在实践中你会发现，当你不把盈利作为惟一出发点时，它反而成了水到渠成的结果。因为单纯追求盈利，忽略社会和环境责任，企业就有可能走向消费者和全社会的对立面，将面临无源之水、无本之木的困境，既不可能做大，更不会做强。企业的社会责任，不单纯是捐赠和慈善事业，它有更广泛的内涵：既包含遵守法律、善待员工，也包含提供优质的产品和服务，满足社会的需求。企业的环境责任其实包含在社会责任之中，把它单独提出来强调，是因为我们深深体会到环境的脆弱性和对人类的重要性。没有良好的环境，任何产品的消费都是低质低效的；没有对资源的节约和循环使用，别说是企业，人类的进步也难以为继。企业盈利、社会责任、环境责任，这三重底线，是企业的立身之本，是企业不断发展、长盛不衰的根基。
