值此新年之际，我谨代表公司向您致以诚挚的问候!岁月不居，天道酬勤。在刚刚过去的2007年，华为保持了稳健的增长态势，全球销售额突破160亿美元，同比增长达45%，其中超过70%的收入来自中国以外的市场。我们已与全球50强运营商中的35家建立了合作伙伴关系，在欧洲、美国和日本等市场树立了品牌并不断取得新的认可；在拉美、亚太、中东北非、南部非洲和独联体等新兴市场，我们的市场份额稳步提高，已经奠定了优势格局；在中国，我们在各运营商市场份额稳步上升，同时盈利水平显著提升。
上述成绩，来之不易。尤其在这一年来，公司外部竞争环境非常复杂，我们内部也进行了各项变革。这里，要诚挚地感谢您辛勤的工作，感谢您对公司各项变革的理解和支持！

Time flies, but hard work pays off.In the year of 2007 that is about to end, our busine growth has been healthy and sustainable.Our global sales hit US$16 billion, an increase of 45% over 2006, with 70% of those sales from overseas markets.We have established partnerships with 35 of the top 50 operators in the world.Our brand image has been built and our brand equity increased in such markets as Europe, the U.S.A, and Japan.Our market share has grown steadily in emerging markets like Latin America, Asia Pacific, the 2008-1-2

Middle East and North Africa, Sub Sahara, and the CIS, putting us in an advantageous position.In the Chinese market, we have continued our leading position, with our market share increasing steadily and our profitability improving substantially.The competitive landscape in the telecom industry has become very complicated, and we have responded by making changes.Obviously, the above achievements have not come easily.So, I want to take this occasion to say thank you for your hard work, your understanding and support of the changes we made over the past year.Now our global expansion presents a lot of opportunities for the company as well as for you, the individual staff members.In addition, our committed local staff will share in the fruits of our global development.We have decided to let outstanding local staff members work at the company headquarters in rotation, and we will allow and even encourage more local staff members to be promoted to management positions.Meanwhile, we will consolidate our salary reform initiative featuring “Post-based Ranking, Rank-based Salary, Salary-based Post Matching, Salary Adjustment with Post Change”.At the same time, we are drafting a long-term incentive program for our local staff.Our goal is to ensure that as long as you are part of our corporate family, contributing to the organization, you will be treasured and deserve incentives over the long haul no matter where you are from or whether you are old or new members.We are continually revising our organizational structure and optimizing our procees with a view to better supporting our busine efforts.We have decided that English is the company’s working language.This decision requires every department to use English in their daily work, and our IT system to be in English.We are also building a companywide knowledge-sharing platform so that our staff can better communicate and cooperate globally and work more effectively.We aspire to become the best supplier of network equipment.To make this come true we have four strategic weapons: quality products and solutions, quality service, low internal operating costs, and focus on customer requirements.We must keep focusing on valued markets, customers and products.Moreover, we must double our efforts in profeional services to increase revenue from services and diversify our areas of growth.With recognition expected from more valued customers, we will find our product and service solutions entering more countries and regions, leading to further increase in sales.Also we will work hard to improve our lean management system so that we can increase our 2008-1-2
