一、关于开头

1.开篇的几种主要方式（1）陈述性开篇

这种开篇的好处是一开始就点出文章的主题，快刀斩乱麻。用朴实无华的陈述性语言，来体现自己对所学专业的深刻理解。范例：

While some people view the Great Wall as a symbol of ancient China’s reluctance to change, I regard it as an architectural achievement that transcends time.No matter how many times I have hiked the Great Wall, every time I am there, a newer and stronger sense of amazement and pride thrills me.The Great Wall perfectly complies with the “good architecture” standard that the remarkable Roman architect Vitruvius set in his time.According to Vitruvius, a true piece of architecture must be structurally safe and sound, functionally logical and useful, and compositionally harmonic and aesthetic.As a senior architecture student, I consider the ability to design timele architecture with durability, functionality, and beauty to be the pinnacle of achievement and have been actively pursuing every opportunity to reach this goal.点评：

这是一个申请建筑学的文书。作者通过对长城这个建筑奇迹的感慨，道出了自己作为一个建筑系学生所追求的建筑理念：集持久性、功能性和美感于一体的建筑。这个开头就可以体现学生对所学专业的观察和理解。同时第一段的最后，说“have been actively pursuing every opportunity to reach this goal”，很自然的就可以在下一段展开对自己教育背景的介绍。（2）以小故事开篇

美国人特别喜欢听故事。所以如果你成长过程中，有比较独特的，能体现你某种特质的小故事时，用它来开篇，往往能够起到不错的效果，在开篇就能让人感受到你是一个什么样的人。但开篇要简短、朴实、紧凑，不要喧宾夺主。（3）以格言开篇

这也是我们文案同事比较喜欢的一种开篇方式，但前提是，一定要注意开篇引用的格言内容，必须与下面的文章内容一致，不要让人感觉指东打西。范例：

One of the finest quarterbacks in Pro football history, Roger Stauback, said, “Confidence doesn’t come out of nowhere.It is a result of hours and days and weeks and years of constant work and dedication.” Having focused on the studies of Intelligent Systems since I entered the Masters program at the Institute of Automation at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, I have conducted extensive research in the field of intelligent systems, including fuzzy systems, neural networks and their applications and have published several academic papers in acclaimed domestic and international journals.I have come to recognize that it is the combination of my strong interest intelligent systems and my solid mathematics and computer background that has taken me so far.I have full confidence that I am well prepared to go further and pursue my childhood dream—obtain a Ph.D.degree in Electrical Engineering, eventually becoming a knowledgeable profeor.点评：

学生引用了美国著名橄榄球四分卫Roger Staubach曾说过的一句话“自信心总是来源于日复一日，年复一年的工作和投入。”之后，学生论述了自己目前所取得的成就，来证明自己是一个多么兢兢业业的人：目前所发表的论文，学术成就，都来自自己一点一滴的付出。

二、关于文章的主题部分

文章主体部分的内容主要是关于学术准备，最困难的是选材。在选择材料的时候，要遵循两个原则，一个是这个材料是否与你申请的专业相关；另一个，这个材料是否能体现学生的专业背景。主体部分我们经常会选择学生参加过的实习、一次实验或研究经历等。无论我们选择些什么，都应该包括以下几个部分：（1）这个经历是关于什么的；（2）学生在这个事情中的角色；（3）学生是如何完成自己所负责的部分；（4）这个经历对学生的影响，以及学生自己的心得体会。

三、关于文章的结尾

PS的结尾部分是对前面内容的总结和最终升华，切忌重复之前的部分，也不能出现新的、令人感到突兀的内容。一般来讲，我们在这一段主要提到以下两方面的内容：要么提到自己未来的职业规划，比如长短期目标；要么我们向教授们表达学生在所选择的领域里继续深造的决心和信心。

三、转专业申请的文书写作

我们经常会遇到学生本科学习的专业，和申请的专业不一致的情况，比如学生本科学习机械工程，研究生阶段申请经济学。遇到这种情况时，我们最好能挖掘出学生以下两方面的素材：

（1）原专业和申请专业之间的联系。比如机械工程的课程里面，会有一些基础学科，比如数学，物理，这些都会为学生打下良好的数理基础，这些素质同时也是经济学所要求的。所以在文书里面，可以着重强调能体现学生数理基础的事例，比如某次竞赛，曾经参与的某个研究项目等，让录取委员会相信，学生具备学习新的专业所必备的潜力和素质。

（2）学生转专业的真正原因，找到合适的切入点。学生为什么要转专业，这个必须要在文书里面加以解释，是兴趣爱好的转变，是家庭的影响，还是因为某件事等等。
