One day,a tiger caught a fox in the forest, and was just about to eat it.The fox was afraid of losing his life,so in a flash of inspiration,the fox said, “You mustn't eat me.I was sent by Heaven to rule the animals.By eating me, You will violate the command of Heaven.If you don‘t believe me, just follow me to see whether the animals are afraid of me.” The tiger was doubtful,because he had been believed he was the king of the forest,and nobody had been suspect his authority before.Finlly,under the fox's persuasion,the tiger agreed his suggestion because of curiosity, and followed the fox as it walked around the forest.But beyond tiger's expectation,the animals that they met all ran away on seeing them.The fox was complacent and told tiger,“Do you see it?Those animals know who I am,and they are fearful of being killed by me so that they are too scary to run away”.The tiger was shocked,“Maybe his word was true,”he thought,“it looks like that he is the new king of the animals,they were really afraid of him.I am out.” So he let the fox go,and couldn't recover after a setback.However,he didn‘t realise that it was him that the beasts were really afraid of in fact.
