贴春联是咱们中华民族过春节的传统习俗。你见过英文的春联吗？最近，李开复在微博上贴了一副英文的春联。如图所示：

上联是：Eat well sleep well have fun day by day.下联是：Study hard work hard make money more and more.横批：Gelivable.连我们门上贴的“福”都是用Luck 来写的。

上下联都是中补结构的短语，可以说是把英文和中文的文化很好的结合在了一起。不过我们中文的“福”字所代表的含义，总觉得一个luck 还不能很好的概括出来。更多英文对联：

春联：Spring Festival Scrolls

这里的“scroll”指的就是“卷轴；画卷”，比如说：Most Chinese pictures are painted on silk scrolls.（中国画大都是画在绢卷轴上的。）同时，它还可以表示“名册”的意思，比如说：be entered in the scrolls of history（名垂史册）

那么，“上联”、“下联”、“横批”又该怎么说呢？

可不能把“上”、“下”直译成“up”和“down”哟。事实上，我们“the left scroll”、“the right scroll”、以及“the top scroll”来分别指这三个意思。

除去“春联”，一般性的“对联”，我们叫做“couplet”，表示的就是通常说的“对句”啦。所以，“春联”还可以叫做“Spring Festival Couplets”哟。比如人民网中这样描述春联： Spring Festival couplets consist of two paper scrolls, inscribed with auspicious sayings, pasted vertically on either side of the door.A shorter horizontal scroll is often pasted acro the top.Like images of door gods, Spring Festival couplets were thought to protect the household from evil.新年了，你家门口贴上春联了吗^^
