南园滨江绿地位于卢湾区，面朝世博园区，背靠内环线，翘邻卢浦大桥，仰遇绿地集团高档办公楼宇（CBD），占地面积8万平方米，以原南园公园为起点，向南延伸至黄埔江，回旋于龙华东路以南，日晖东路以东，鲁班路以西的浦江岸边，与滔滔江水为伴。
Nanyuan Riverside Green Belt is located in Luwan District and covers an area of 80000 square meters.It faces the Expo Site, backs on to the Inner Ring Road, neighbors on Lupu Bridge and lies at the foot of a group of office buildings known as Greenland CBD.Starting from the former Nanyuan Park at East Longhua Road, it stretches towards the riverside.From Lu Ban Road to Ri Hui Road, it circles around the northern bank moistened by water from the Huangpu River.南园公园作为南园滨江绿地的前身，有着深厚的历史人文底蕴。1923年由旅沪闽南籍同乡会购用，习称南园，并于1927年开办了泉漳中学。1929年，中共江苏省委在此召开第二次党代会，在沪的中共中央领导人周恩来、李立
三、陈云、任弼时等出席大会。1957年1月上海市第二届人民代表大会同意将南园改建为公园。同年10月15日对外开放，沿用“南园”之名。后来经历三次关闭与开放。
As the predeceor of South Riverside Green Belt, Nanyuan Park has a long history and is rich in cultural and historical heritage.It was bought by Shanghai Aociation of Southern Fujian Provincials in 1923, which
used to be called “Nanyuan”.On this site the Quan Zhang Middle School was established in 1927.Here Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the CPC held its second party congre in 1929.At that time, leaders of the CPC Central Committee, Zhou Enlai, Li Lisan, Chen Yun and Ren Bishi, were in Shanghai and attended the congre.During the second seion of the Shanghai People’s Congre which was held in Jun.1957, it was planed to set up a park on this site.On Oct.15th, 1957, the park with the name “Nanyuan” was opened to the public.After that time, the park has experienced unforeseen events and had to be closed for three times.作为卢湾区“十一五”发展规划的重大项目，南园滨江绿地改扩建工程被列为2010年上海世博会配套工程，工程总投资68962万元，成为卢湾区“迎世博600天行动计划”的亮点。市、区领导高度重视南园滨江绿地项目，2010年3月17日，中共中央政治局委员、市委书记俞正声，市委副书记、市长韩正，市人大常委会主任刘云耕，市政协主席冯国勤，市委副书记殷一璀等市领导及市绿化和市容管理局局长马云安、卢湾区委书记徐逸波、区长翁祖亮等市、区机关干部到南园滨江绿地参加全民义务植树活动。
As the key point of “the Eleventh Five-Year Plan of Luwan District” and a highlight of the action plan of Luwan District in 600 days before Shanghai World Expo, the project for alteration and extension of Nanyuan Riverside Green Belt was one of the projects on the agenda of 2010 supporting Shanghai World Expo.The total investment of this project is up to 689.62 million RMB.Leaders at municipal and district
levels have paid great attention to this project.On Mar.17th in 2010, officials from municipal and district authorities, inclusive of Yu Zhengsheng, Secretary of the Municipal Committee of the CPC, Han Zheng, Shanghai Mayor, Liu Yungeng, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People’s Congre, Feng Guoqing, Chairman of the Municipal Committee of the CPPCC, Ying Yicui, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Committee of the CPC, Ma yun’an, Director-General of the Municipal Bureau of Landscape and City Appearance Administration, Xu Yibo, Secretary of the District Committee of the CPC, Weng Zuliang, District Mayor, came to participate the national voluntary tree planting activity.南园滨江绿地是离世博园区最近的综合性公园之一。公园建设在“博”字上做文章，体现科技手段先进性，生态的多样性，文化的多元性和表现手法艺术性，充分展示时代特征、上海特点、卢湾特色。Nanyuan Riverside Green Belt is the nearest park to the World Expo Site.When embodying technical advancement, biological diversity, cultural pluralism and expreive art for a full display of time characteristic, Shanghai feature and Luwan trait, it was emphasized with the meaning of plenteousne in construction.南园滨江绿地分为“新欣南园”、“都市绿野”、“工业象素”和“滨河华灯”四个主题功能区。
Nanyuan Riverside Green Belt has been divided into 4 themed zones;“Xinxin South Park”, “Urban Green Field”, “Industrial Picture” and
“Lanterns at Riverside”.“新欣南园”位于原南园公园位置，设置自然形态的水体和喷泉，美化景观并用于收集雨水灌溉。“都市绿野”由五彩长廊、阳光草坪和白玉兰花瓣状的配套服务建筑组成。“工业象素”位于黄浦江畔（该处原为隧道公司），设计改造三个大型水泥筒仓为观景平台，保留钢制龙门架，结合沿江码头改造，形成滨江水岸的一道景观。“滨河华灯”延续南园滨江绿地的整体设计，在滨江铺设亲水木平台，可供游人沿江散步，并采用太阳能技术及LED光源的灯光装饰，打造滨江夜景。
“Xinxin South Park” finds its place in the original Nanyuan Park, where a pool featuring a natural water source with geysers for the visual beauty collects rain water for irrigation.“Urban Green Field” is characterized by a colorful gallery, sunny lawn and acceorial buildings in form of magnolia petals.“Industrial Picture” takes its seat on the side of Huangpu River, where a firm of tunnel construction was formerly located.A piece of attractive scenery is realized in detail that three big silos for cement storage have been reformed to serve their new function as observation decks and a steel gantry is preserved after the improvement of the previous dock area along the river.“Lanterns at Riverside” exhibits design conception of the Nanyuan Riverside Green Belt as a whole in continuation.There is a hydrophilic platform of wooden structure for pedestrians walking along the river.While offering a night landscape, designer prefers technical solutions with solar cell and LED lights.南园滨江绿地建设借鉴了国内外最新的造园技术，集成使用绿荫停车场、雨水回收、太阳能技术和智能化管理系统等低碳、节能、环保科技。在植物配置上以榉树、朴树、白玉兰、东方杉、无患子、合欢等乡土树种为主。
Native trees known as fir, beech, magnolia, hackberry, soapberry and silk tree played a main role in plantation in Nanyuan Riverside Green Belt, while experiences of landscape gardening both home and abroad were used in combination with a series of advanced technology featuring low-carbon emiion, energy-saving, environmental protection, green shade parking lot, rainwater collection, solar energy conversion, and intelligentized management system.They have been integrated into a coherent whole.卢湾南部滨江地区以滨江商业商务功能开发和生态环境建设为重点，依托世博企业馆所在地的优势，是卢湾区投资力度、城区面貌变化、发展潜力最大的区域，并将成为卢湾后世博时期的发展战略重点及“十二五”经济发展的重要支撑点和增长点。建成后的南园滨江绿地已演变为镶嵌在卢湾南部滨江地区一颗温润的翡翠，全面提升了南部地区的生态环境质量和景观面貌，昭示“城市，让生活更美好”的世博主题。
