My thought about the earthquake happened in Japan

On march 11,2011,when I was eating in the canteen, a bad news came to my ear.A 9.0-magnitude earthquake happened in Japan ,which gives me a big shock. But the real tragedy was just the beginning.A killer tsunami and a nuclear accident at a tremor-and tidal-wave-damaged power plant followed the earthquake.I really felt sorry for the disaster and great pitiful to the Japanese people.I couldn’t help thinking about The Wenchuan Earthquake happened on May 12,2008.Pictures of the disaster continuously came to my mind.Just a second, everything had ruined in pieces.Athough I didn’t go through the Wenchuan Quake myself, but in the middle of China, I felt obvious sense of earthquake.I remembered clearly, at 2:28 on May 12 ,2008, we were just beginning to have a history cla.I felt the desk and chair were shaking, one of my clamates shouted :”Earthquake!”Then the claroom was boiling.Without picking up anything, almost everyone rushed out ofthe claroom.I was one of them. When I was walking downstairs, a horrible thought came to my mind, ”I was going to die, I was going to die”.So I dashed out of the building as quikly as poible. After two minutes, I saw most students in the building standing in the groud of our schoolyard.I also saw the worry on their face with noisy talking. After about ten minutes, there’s nothing
happened excepted for the slight shake. Then we went back to continue our cla. However, later, we got news that a big earthquake happened in Wenchuan. We couldn’t imagine how the Wenchuan people went through the anguished time. Now the tragedy happened in Japan again, which caught my great attention. From the TV news, I watched that there had been no looting ,no rioting.Even as people hoping for food, water and fuel wait in kilometer-long lines in freezing weather-sometimes without succe-tempers have not flared.Rationing of basic supplies has been accepted with few complaints. The aumption is that everybody has to share the pain equally. In Japan, tears do fall, but le noisily. When Mashahira Kasamatser,76,found out after three harrowing days that his miing daughter was safe.He merely nodded and repeated slowly, ”She’s OK,she’s OK.”
Natural disasters lay bare the best and worst in people, tripping away hubris and artifice. The tragedy brought into relief the remarkable resilience of the Japanese people.Compared with Japan, we lack a lot.Japan has an earthquake early-warning system in place, but we don’t.The schools in Japan were shelters in the quake. But our schools collapsed weakly in the quake. There was no looting after the quake and the nuclear accident. But in our coutry, people eagerly loot salt in fear that the nuclear accident in Japan will influence the supply of salt, which pushed
the price of salt. There are leons to be learned by us from both Japan’s postwar succe and its resilience in the face of disaster. In the end, I have a request for you ,let us pray for the Japanese people, hoping they recover soon.Thank you!
