题目:On Exceive Packaging

提纲:1.目前很多商品存在过度包装现象

2.出现这一现象的原因

3.我对这一现象的看法和建议

范文:On Exceive Packaging

Nowadays the phenomena of exceive packaging of goods are prevailing in our society: clothes swathed in tiue paper, placed in cardboard box and finally wrapped in well-designed plastic bags, imported bottles of grape wine packed in wooden boxes, fruits put in hand-woven baskets, to name but a few. There are several causes of exceive packaging. The first reason is that a large number of companies believe that they can attract customers’ attention and stimulate their purchasing desire by over-packaging their goods, thus gaining more profits. On the other hand, quite a number of consumers mistakenly hold that the more delicate the package is, the better the quality will be, thus encouraging exceive packaging. In my point of view, exceive packaging has disastrous consequences, including the lo of precious resources, exceive consumption of water and energy, and unneceary extraction of scarce land for landfill。

To solve the problem, it’s neceary to take the following measures.First, laws and regulations must be made to restrict exceive packaging of companies. In addition, we need to raise consumer’s awarene that exceive packaging doesn’t equal to high quality and advocate packaging recycling.CET6-2012

It can’t be denied that the internet is an epoch-making invention. As we entered into the age of information, it has had a great impact upon every aspects of our life, in particular, the interpersonal communication in our social life.On one hand, the internet can remarkably enhance the interpersonal communication among us.Firstly, it saves time and money.Without considering the transportation and the money for reception, we can realize person-to-person communication at any time we want merely by typing the meage or click the “send” button on varieties of instant chatting tools.Secondly, interpersonal communication through the internet is not limited by space. As a platform for making friends, the internet provides more ways of knowing people from other parts of the world. On the other hand, the internet might be a burden for interpersonal communication if inappropriately used.If people obseively rely on internet to maintain their friendship instead of

meeting each other face to face, they may suffer mental problem. After all, compared with communication through the internet, it is friendly handshaking, eye contact, and smile exchanges in face-to-face encounters that means a lot to humans. In conclusion, we should properly use the internet in our interpersonal communication.Only by that, can we benefit from the Internet in our social life.ACCA P3 Section B Scenario Question(完整答案)

(a)Analyze the reasons for Rock Bottom’s succe or failure in each of the three phases identified in the scenario.Evaluate how Rick Hein’s leadership style contributed to the succe or failure of each phase. The product life cycle model suggests that a product paes through six stages: introduction, development, growth, shakeout, maturity and decline. The first Rock Bottom phase appears to coincide with the introduction, development and growth periods of the products offered by the company. The reasons that can account for the succe in the first phase are various.First, these highly specified, high quality products were new to the country and were quickly adopted by a certain consumer segment.Second, the innovative way in which Rock Bottom sold and marketed the products distinguished the company from potential competitors. Not only were these competitors still selling inferior and older products but their retail methods looked outdated compared with Rock Bottom’s bright, specialist shop.Besides, Rock Bottom’s entry into the market-place also exploited two important changes in the external environment. The first was the technological advance of the Japanese consumer electronics industry. The second was the growing economic power of young people, who wished to spend their increasing disposable income on products that allowed then to enjoy popular music. Also, early entrants into an industry gain experience of that industry sooner than others. This may not only be translated into cost advantage but also into customer loyalty that helps them through subsequent stages of the product’s life cycle.Rock Bottom enjoyed the advantage of a first mover in this industry.Hein’s leadership style appears to have been consistent with contemporary society and more than acceptable to his young target market.(1)As an entrepreneur, his charismatic leadership was concerned with building a vision for the organization and energizing people to achieve it.The latter he achieved through appointing branch

managers who reflected, to some degree, his own style and approach.(2)His willingne to delegate considerable responsibility to these leaders, and to reward them well, was also relatively innovative.(3)The shops were also staffed by young people who understand the capabilities of the products they were selling. It was an early recognition that intangible resources of skills and knowledge were important to the organization. In summary, in the first phase Rock Bottom’s organization and Hein’s leadership style appear to have been aligned with contemporary society, the customer base, employees and Rock Bottom’s position in the product/service life cycle.(b)Rick Hein considered franchising the Rock Bottom brand at two points in its history-1988 and 2007.Explain the key factors that would have made franchising Rock Bottom feasible in 1988, but would have made it unlikely to be succeful in 2007.(1)品牌价值的变化

At the end of phase 1, Rock Bottom was a strong brand, aociated with youth and innovation.First movers often retain customer loyalty even when their products and approach have been imitated by new aggreive entrants to the market.A strong brand is eential for a succeful franchise as it is a significant part of what the franchisee is buying. On the contrary, by the time Hein came to look at franchising again in phase 3, the brand was devalued by his behavior and incongruent with customer expectations and sales channels. For example, it had no Internet sales channel. If Hein had developed Rock Bottom as a franchise it would have given him the opportunity to focus on building the brand, rather than financing the expansion of the busine through the iue of shares.(2)企业盈利状况的变化(恶化)

At the end of phase 1, Rock Bottom was still a financially succeful company. If it had been franchised at this point, then Hein could have realized some of his investment(through franchise fees)and used some of this to reward himself, and the rest of the money could have been to consolidate the brand.Much of the future financial risk would have been paed to the franchisees. There would have been no

need to take Rock Bottom public and so suffer the scrutiny aociated with a public limited company. In contrast, by the time Hein came to look at franchise again in phase 3, most of the shops were trading at a lo.He saw franchising as a way of disposing of the company in what he hoped was a sufficiently well-structured way.In effect, it was to minimize loes.It seems highly unlikely that franchisees would have been attracted by investing in something that was actually making a lo.Even if they were, it is unlikely that the franchise fees would be very high.(3)特许经营的人选

At the end of the first phase Hein still had managers who were entrepreneurial in their outlook. It might have been attractive for them to become franchisees, particularly as this might be a way of protecting their income through the more challenging stages of the product and service life cycle that lay ahead. However, by the time Hein came to look at franchising again(phase 3), the managers were unlikely to be of the type that would take up the challenge of running a franchise. These were managers used to meeting targets within the context of centrally determined policies and budgets within a public limited company.Hein would have to make these employees redundant(at significant cost)and with no certainty that he could find franchisees to replace them.考研英语作文 2012

As is symbolically illustrated in the cartoon, two individuals respond to the same event in completely diverse ways. The person on the left airs his diatisfaction and disappointment when a bottle is overturned, while the man on the right is hurry to raise it up, with a sweet smile on his face.We are informed that various folks take different attitudes toward the same scene. The aim of the portrayal is to illustrate that keeping optimistic is of utmost significance to both our society and our life.In the first place, as an extremely vital psychological quality, optimism brings us creative power to play, arouses our enthusiasm for work and helps us overcome difficulties. In other words, with peimism, achievements can hardly be made.In the second place, keeping optimistic gives us light when we are in dark and encouragement when we are dismayed. It is optimism, rather than genius and extraordinary ability, that inspires us to cope with any arduous task. With optimism, the goal we intend can be reached, and so can the hard nut be cracked. In conclusion, keeping optimistic encourages people to learn wisdom, humanity and self-confidence, and is a crucial and unavoidable aspect of any individual’s development of character and competence.
