Today, I would like to share some opinions about one child policy.Let’s start with the background of the one child policy.One child policy was published in 1979.In 1970s, the quick increase of population resulted in the preure of employment.Some people did labor work and earned so little money that they couldn’t afford the daily expense.On the other hand, the development of economic was slow because of heavy population.Some people depended on basic living allowances which brought heavy preure to our society.And every new born meant a lot expense.So our country needed to spend much money to support them, and this slowed the development of economic.As one child policy carried out, the control of population has a good effect.Since China published one child policy in 1979, there appeared a small increase until 1989 and then the increase slow down.From 1989 to 1999, the rate of population increase is 82%, and until 2009 it decreased to 50%.Apart from this, it also lightens the burden of family, and parents will pay all of their love to their only child.Furthermore, the only child are growing happily and healthily because of the attention of all families.But there also appears several problems such as the high sex ratio, let’s look at its problems.The three major problems that one child policy resulted in are the high sex ratio, growing population aging and growth problems.The high sex ratio is more and more outstanding.One child policy caused the baby boy ratio increased rapidly due to the traditional preference of boys to girls.The average sex ratio in the world is woman vs man——100 vs 103-107 , but in China man is 121.Moreover, one child policy caused growing population aging more serious to a certain degree.For example, in 2008, there are three million people over sixty in shanghai, and it will increase to five million in 2030.And the degree of population aging in shanghai is close to the degree of the most serious population aging country in the world.Besides, another important drawback is the growth problems of the only child at home.Parents spoiled their child and satisfied all of their desires.And some of them don’t know tolerance.Also, some feel lonely and think they will have no blood relatives left to share with me the fond memories of my parents after parents leave the world.These are all bad for their growth.As we have seen, one child policy has good effect but also causes some serious problems.So I hope our government will take right steps according to Chinese national conditions.
