My View on University Education
To most of high school students, entering into the university seems to be the only motivation to study.Because they are often told how wonderful the life in a college is and that they can have a better future by studying at colleges.Admittedly, college days are an important stage in one’s lifetime.It is important for college students to spend this period of time on academic development.However, the university education is being challenged by the society as more and more graduates fail to meet requirements of the society.So far as I am concerned, though there are some problems, the university education still contributes to the development and improvement of the college students.When students step into the gate of college, a new and challenging life will show in front of them.Leaving the comfortable home and having their friends behind, the college students have to quickly adjust themselves to settle into the college life.And in the proce of adjusting to the university life, the college students can become more independent.First, the college students can be independent in the terms of the capability of individual to take care of practical and personal affairs., such as handling finances, choosing their own wardrobes, and determining their daily agenda.Learning to take care of themselves, I think, is the first step for them to study well at college.What does it mean? Because only the students have the ability of dealing with daily life can they learn time management and study more efficiently and actively.In the past, students studied under the preure of the teachers and parents,but now, they study at college absolutely on themselves for their future.While they are in college, they are in the ocean of vast knowledge which they have never seen.The diversity of college education can surely satisfy what they need in various fields, from basic reading and writing skills to high-level academic research.In addition, there are many elective courses to choose from.All of these help they to master the very knowledge that they are interested in and to know how to gather, proce, and apply knowledge in their lives, which would have a great influence on their whole life..They will benefit from what they have learned at college in they lifetime.
