The nanny diaries is similar to another film The devil wears Prada.although both of the films have described a special experience of a graduated freshman.They steal in a different circle like a spy and quit at last after a series of difficulties of findingtheir true love and understanding the meaning of life.The nanny diaries is not aspopular as the devil wears Prada.Scarlett Johanon is bonfire enoughbut not humor like Anne Hathaway.Few and far between ,the film is faithful to the novel.It is ironic when describe the life ofthe Upper East Side.And the topic of nanny also have practical significance.at the beginning of the film Annie said In Africa they have the saying, it takes a village to raise a child.But for the tribe of the upper-eastside of Manhattan, it takes just one person.The nanny.At the same time the director of the film give us a question : who will be responsible for the education of offspring ?
take the upper-eastside of Manhattan as an example ,and try to use objective tone of voice to tell about the joys and sorrows of the Annie.annie graduated from college succefully but she is hardly shortage of self-identity.she want to separate herself from family and do what she really wants to do.master of anthropology annie become a new social role children nanny on one occasion..and she met the upper-eastside family ,the mistre who settle kinds of rules for annie ,the master who seldom came back home and the naughtygopets.and she even can’t adopt to the communication of the in-group source.all of those make annie crazy
through the sight of annie we see the upper-eastside family is not lookso happy.and we also see many crises in parent-child relationship and spousal relationship.mistre have enough time to go to spa but have no time with child.master who is a lovelace pay le and le attention to his family.The life in upper-eastside is very hard for annie who was born in Westside.and while the red umbrella with symbolic meaning appear to annie again ,annie’s world view and value system happen to change.she got the idea that money can’t make life easy and can’t depend everything.We should respect our own work and choose what we like as job.soon afterward she show her cards with the master who can’t considerate her trouble.and she give the answer tothe question of the beginning nicely that parents should be responsible for the offspring’s education.
