Being born with unhealthy legs, an IQ level of 75, it seemed Forrest Gump would never catch up with normal people.However, that was not the final answer.He turned out to be a football star, a war hero, a national famous ping-pong player and a richer during his following years.It seemed that Gump was such a lucky man, however, what had Gump got all resulted from what he had done.Young Gump was not so intelligent as other students when he was in primary school, his legs were not healthy and could not walk freely as others, so he would always be the target to be laughed at.His friend Jenny told him to run and that was what made him free from the bandage on his legs, he ran as fast as he can without thinking anything.He could ran so fast that in his college years, he became a football player and nobody catch him in the match.His succe in football seemed as a miracle.Later, after he graduated from college, Gump attended the army and went to the Vietnam War.In common people‟s eyes, being at the battle field would be seriously boring and scaring.But what Gump did was to obey what the commander said, to try his best to take his responsibility.When they were attacked by their enemies, he risked his life to save his friend, Buba as well as his commander, Dan, and it was because he could run so fast that he was one of the few survivals to return back from the Vietnam War respected as a war hero.After the death of Gump‟s mother, who had been loving him so much and always giving him supports, Gump felt depreed, however, instead of fooling around, he made a long run acro the town, then the city, the state and later the whole country.When others asked what he was running for, whether he was running for freedom, feminine liberation, racial separation or other purpose, his answer gave all people a great shock „I run just because I like running.‟

Forrest Gump‟s life experience seemed to be a legend.From a low IQ and unhealthy schoolboy to a football star, war hero, famous ping-pong player, and a richer, he experienced and gained so much.Meanwhile his life could also be considered as a normal person‟s life, foe his simple attitude toward life, deeply true love to mother and Jenny, honesty and loyalty to friends, and, also his stupid.It was these qualities that leaded his life to be a unusual but fruitful life.Forrest Gump may be considered to be a stupid man, perhaps it is just so many good chances that made him a lucky man.But if we think carefully about his whole life, it‟s not difficult foe us to find that what quality Gump owned is what we common people do lack today.Forrest had always been a reliable man, he never gave too much expectation for tomorrow.Just as what he ever said „Life was a box of chocolate, you never know what you‟re gonna get.‟ That didn‟t mean Gump did everything without target and principle, on the contrary, because he never thought what he would gain from what he was doing, he did everything with all his attention and endeavor.So when he finished his doing, he would absolutely gain what he deserved.Gump‟s also with the quality of honesty and loyalty.In Vietnam War, when Buba, Gump‟s best friend,disappeared in the battle, Gump risked his life to find him, though finally Buba was died, what he

said to Gump was kept in Gump‟s mind, and in the years following, he worked so hard to stick on to his friend‟s unachieved dreams.Love is to people what water is to fish.Gump‟s love is sincerious and true.The only woman that Gump loved all his life was Jenny, though he didn‟t had beautiful words nor romantic actions, what he stuck to was “You are my girl.” Though Jenny left him several times, Gump never forgot her, in college, in Vietnam, and even after Jenny‟s death.He once said,“I am not smart, but I know what love is.”

Forrest Gump was not perfect, even sometimes seemed stupid, but he set up an example for us.He is simple, like a piece of pure white feather;he is reliable, like a pond of peaceful water;he is honest, loyal, and true.He seemed no difference than anyone else, however, he make a difference.Life was not a destination, but a journey to be savored each step of the way.
