The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark is one of the most popular works of the world’s pre-eminant dramatist, William Shakespeare.There is a saying that Shakespeare produced it with his great sorrow of losing his only dear son Hamnet.What I do believe is that the man must have suffered some real hardships, got more understanding about life, and then, turn to the ‘tragedy’ creation.So, Shakespeare set the play in such a chaotic environment, and determined it a tragedy.And besides this, he made Hamlet a prince who is noble, smart, humous, charming but contradictory, fragile and owns a weak will, which become the another main cause of the tragedy.Hamlet is the image of humanist.It is reflected in his praise of humans and their love, and comes out when he gave his life or his ideals.His struggle against Claudius is just like the fight between the newly emerged humanists and the feudal evil force.And his tragedy is beyond individual and become the tragedy of all the humanists in that times, because of objective environment and their own dificiency and weak.I was deeply moved by the play.While watching the film, I can almost feel the author in it, thinking, exploring and questioning, and hesitated, and depreed.The long and long dialogue and monologue seemed so boring at the beginning, but then, became so exciting and touching.Some people say that Shakespeare wanted to explore and show different attitudes towards life and death through this great work.I just can’t agree more.
