NOTE OF SEA PROTEST

This is to advise you that on the 21st of July 2006 proceeding along Northern channel with pilot on board to the port of Shanghai we met a barge croing the channel from port to starboard on a collision course but despite all attempts at 1923 lt on the 21st of July 2006 at position 31 18,95N 121 44,24E we had a sliding impact with the barge in the area of bulb.After the incident the pilot made another call on VHF but the barge did not reply, due to dusk and rather big speed the barge parted the place of incident the name of the barge could not be spotted.After that we went on to the berth.I herewith declare a Sea Protest and reject any claim and or damage to my veel, the Owners and Managers and hold the barge fully responsible in all respects for the incident and all expenses arising there from.I reserve the right to extend the protest at any place and time.Master of the mv COSCO Melbourne
