Viewing Malaysia in My Eye

Having Attended English docking cla for a short time, but it is quiet a great time for me.My partner who comes from Malaysia is interested in our Chinese culture, so I introduced something typical to him.Besides, he helped me get a good knowledge of Malaysia such as their campuses, families and cultures, which are beneficial to read Malaysia better for me.Campus Life

For a Malaysia student, the university is a friendly and welcoming place, with a vibrant and dynamic campus culture. There are some major student organization Malaysia campus representing students with common needs, interests, and concerns and work with administration..These student organizations Such atudent government, residence hall aociation, reporter magazine and college radio enriching student campus life a lot. Some campuses are self-contained townships that have all the facilities and services needed to cater to a resident student's normal daily needs. The services offered at campus try their best meeting the customer's satisfaction. There are different places where you can snack or dine, with many choices of ambience and cuisines.A wide range of Asian, African, European and Middle Eastern delicacies can easily be found on campus. Each residential college has a cafeteria. In the Central Complex, there are food kiosks, cafes and restaurants that offer choices to suit every palate and temperament. There are more than a dozen convenience shops to supply campus residents with their stationery, toiletries, groceries, and other needs-all at affordable prices.Malaysia Family

Since the 1960s changes in population patterns and the economy have significantly affected Malaysian families. These changes have ushered in distinct developments in the population distribution and trends in the family that distinguish the experiences of the Malays, Chinese Malaysians, and Indian Malaysians, the three dominant ethnic groups. In Malaysia, interaction between the three dominant ethnic groups has gradually increased, but intermarriage acro ethnic lines remains very rare.As such, marriage traditions and rituals and family life among the different ethnic groups have also remained distinct, reflecting the cultural and religious heritage of each of the ethnic groups.Compared to the Chinese Malaysian, the Malays and

Indian Malaysians have historically been more inclined to marry at a younger age.For example, many Malay women married between the ages of fifteen and nineteen. In large part, this marriage trend among Malay women was due to the fact that it was customary for Malay women to receive minimal, if any, formal education, and parents typically arranged marriages for their daughters shortly after the onset of puberty. However, increased educational and economic opportunities—particularly in urban areas—has lead to a significant shift of the Malay population to urban areas, and this shift affected the trend of marriage and family formation among Malay women. The nuclear family—consisting of two parents and at least one unmarried child—remains the predominant family arrangement in Malaysia.Where extended family household patterns persist(that is, where at least one elderly parent resides with an adult child), it is least likely among Malays and most likely among Chinese Malaysians. In part, this difference is a reflection of a strong cultural tradition among Chinese Malaysians that emphasizes filial piety and strong respect for elders.Indian Malaysians also have a strong cultural tradition upholding a son's commitment to care for his adult parents in old age.Malaysia’s Culture

Malaysia's cultural mosaic is marked by many different cultures, but several in particular have had especially lasting influence on the country.Chief among these is the ancient Malay culture, and the cultures of Malaysia's two most prominent trading partners throughout history--the Chinese, and the Indians. These three groups are joined by a dizzying array of indigenous tribes, many of which live in the forests and coastal areas of Borneo.Although each of these cultures has vigorously maintained its traditions and community structures, they have also blended together to create contemporary Malaysia's uniquely diverse heritage. One example of Malaysia's extraordinary cultural exchange the Malay wedding ceremony, which incorporates elements of the Hindu traditions of southern India;the bride and groom dre in gorgeous brocades, sit in state, and feed each other yellow rice with hands painted with henna.Muslims have adapted the Chinese custom of giving little red packets of money at festivals to their own needs;the packets given on Muslim holidays are green and have Arab writing on them.In cities, you'll find everyone in a grand mélange.I don’t know how to say it.For example, a Chinese opera will be playing on the radio in a house;in another

they're preparing for Muslim prayers;in the next, the daughter of the household readies herself for claical Indian dance leons.Perhaps the easiest way to begin to understand the highly complex cultural interaction which is Malaysia is to look at the open door policy maintained during religious festival.Although Malaysia's different cultural traditions are frequently maintained by seemingly self-contained ethnic communities, all of Malaysia's communities open their doors to members of other cultures during a religious

festival--to tourists as well as neighbors.Such inclusivene is more than just a way to break down cultural barriers and foster understanding. It is a positive celebration of a tradition of tolerance that has for millennia formed the basis of Malaysia's progre. After communicating with my partner and searching information , I have a new understanding about Malaysia’s culture. So vivid a flower Malaysiajust like that I would like to enjoy it all the time.
