This story was written by Jean.Webster and was published in 1912,which got thousands of readers and applauses.Daddy Long Legs is a story about love,miracle and courage.Judy Abbott and Mr.Jervis Pendleton(Daddy Long Legs)are the main characters of this novel.Belive in love and miracle and with great courage,our life will be filled with sunshines and surprises.Daddy-Long-Legs is a epistle novel.The novel is made up with 84 pieces of letters.It is a particular writing skills which differ from other novel.All the letters was written by an orphan-Judy who was brought up in the Jhon Grier Home.Though she was still a little girl,she had to do the heavy work which beyond her ability of support.She could not enjoy the happine with her family just as the ordinary child.One day, her fate was changed.After a councilman reading her eay-Blue Wednesday, he thought she had a potential of being a famous writer,so he decided to sent her to a university to advanced studies.As Judy didn't know the council just saw his figure viewed from behind which seemed just like a big spider, so she called him daddy-long-legs.In the university, all the things to her were fresh and strange.She was very excited and work hard.She start to set off new life and meet different people and different things.All is new to her.As an orphan, she didn't have families.And it seemed the orphanage leave a bad memory on her, so she could just regard the Daddy-Long-Legs as her only listener.She written letter to Daddy Long Legs about all her thing in University，but she never get any response from daddy-long-legs.While she never give up.In university Judy meet manykind of people,and Jervis is a quiet and gentle man and they fall in love with each other after many contacts.But when Jervis asked Judy to marry with him, she refused

because of her dole life experience.But after many ups and downs.To her surprise,after sending her letter,daddy-long-legs agreed to meet her.And she found that the Daddy-Long-Legs was Jervis.In this story, I like the Judy.Maybe she is no perfect but no one is perfect in world.She is not only a grateful but also independent girl.For instances, She tried her best to work but not depended on her Daddy-Long-Legs too much.She wrote in the letter that “I know that you don’t want me to return the money, but neverthele, I am going to want to do it, if I poibly can.” Compared with supporting by others, she preferred to make a living by herself.Meanwhile, she is a optimistic girl.Although she suffered from many hardships but she also love the life and smile the life.What's more, I also agree to her several opinions.She thought “every one, no matter how many troubles he may have when he grow up, ought to have a happy childhood to look back upon.” I think it’s true.And I also appreciate Jervis,who is kind and gentle to help many people without being his name.Paying without expecting returning is easier said than done.But Jervis really did.He was well respected by the readers.After I have finished the reading, I have learned a lot of from this novel.The theme is touch my mind deeply and the quality of characters are influence me a lot.The whole novel attract me tightly.Most of us are born with parents’ love.Sometimes we wouldn’t realize that we are so lucky to have a warm family.This is the orphans’ dream which may not be able to come true for ever.Not until I read the book I began to realize it.This is one of the treasures in our life.It is of great value.People may be unaware it until they lose.Knowing you’re so lucky to born with your parents’ love, you should be kind to your parents when you feel angry with them.Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, loving someone deeply gives you courage.Daddy-Long-Legs was Judy’s dream.She considered Daddy Long Legs as her all family and she received courage and strength from love and being loved.We shouldn’t forget love in any case.Better to light one candle than to curse the darkne.Trying our best to overcome the setback is better than complaining.Courage is the ladder on which all the other virtues mount.Winners never forget to carry the courage with them.Facing setback, Judy never spent too much time on complaining but working.Complaining is usele.What’s more, it may make you feel more upset.In our life we should holding the belief that belive in love and miracle and with great courage,our life will be filled with sunshines and surprises.Although the reality is dismal, we may get courage to face and challenge it to make the miracle and succe.
