PERSONAL STATEMENT

My name is XXX, and I come from Beijing.I am submitting this personal statement in support of my application for the MA programme in German.My interest in German has something to do with my family background.I have stayed in Germany for five months when I was 15 years old.Because my father is an engineer.He must fly to Berlin, the capital of Germany, for a busine trip.So my mother and I went together with him.When I got there, I was attracted by the beautiful scenery in Berlin.Although I has been there only five months, I spent the happiest time in my life.So I decided to learn German after I came back to China.I hope that I can go to Germany by myself one day.My interest in German was further developed during the years when I studied in the Capital Normal University.My major was German.So I had to learn more about German, such as german history, german political, german literature and son on.During my studying, I loved Germany more and more.I admired the politicians, the writers and the sports players in Germany.For example, the novel Faust, which was written by Goethe, has gone down in history.It took me two days to read it.And I was also taught by Nietzsche, Marx and Hegel.They were all german philosophers and they were very famous all over the world.I also love the German cars very much.For example, BMW, Benz and Porsche are popular all over the world.And the football players in Germany are very excellent.In a word, how attractive Germany is!

I believe that I now have good qualifications for applying for further study.I spent all of my enthusiasm in learning German.I got a high score on my study.During my undergraduate years, I achieved a score of 17 in the DAF.I also got the Third Cla Scholarship in 2011 and the first prize of Debate in German in 2012.Apart from my studies, I also took a part time job and worked as a secretary in Foreign Language Teaching And Research Pre.There I can often get in touch with many Germen, so that I can improve my pronunciation.And I have developed a good ability to communicate with others.My wish is that I can stay there and become a German translator.In 2011, I also became a journalist for the university newspaper.I must read a lot of books about Germany so that I can write the reports, which were published in the newspaper.I read The Sorrows of Young Werther, Love and Intrigue, Science of Logic, The Birth of Tragedy and so on.These books inspired me and let me learn how to think reasoningly.I believe that my interest in german, my strong motivation, together with my solid profeional training will all help me succeed in getting the MA programme in German.
