Teaching is one of the greatest profeions in the world.I have been feeling so honoured and proud that I am going to be a teacher.Teaching is the profeion that teaches all the other profeions, and education plays a key role of a nation’s development and power.That’s why we should prepare a lot before us being a real and qualified teacher.Following are what I get from the course of English Curriculum and Teaching Methodology taught by Chunmei.1.“The best teacher is the one who suggests rather than dogmatizes, and inspires his listener with the wish to teach himself.” said by Edward Bulwer.In my opinion, a teacher, to some extent, is just a consultant.What he needs to do in cla is to give students a direction and inspire them to think and discover.People always say that interest is the best teacher, so when teaching, one should try his best to motivate students and raise a point where students will be attracted and finally find a way to the end—knowledge, skills, methods or something like.Internal cause is the hinge while the external is just condition.It is students who are learning.Given that, a teacher can only provide whatever he can to push and encourage students move on.What a teacher should do is just as the old Chinese saying goes, “To teach a person fishing rather than give him fish.” Chunmei highlights it many times that in teaching, the more important is to teach student how to think and how to teach themselves.Teachers offer knowledge, skills and help and it is students that they should focus on.Examination is just a mean while acquire knowledge is the end.Teachers should never put the cart before the horse.2.“A teacher affects eternity;he can never tell where his influence stops.” said by Henry Brooks Adams.No one can predict what will happen tomorrow and may be that what a student learns today will affect his whole life.Before teaching, one should check again and again to make sure there is no mistake;after teaching, one should look back and if there’s something wrong, he should correct it as quickly as poible.What a teacher faces is not one person, but tens or even hundreds of students.It’s not exaggerated that teachers shoulder a nation’s future.In China, there’s an expreion, “Great learning makes a teacher;moral integrity makes a model.” A teacher should be charming both mentally and morally.3.“In teaching you cannot see the fruit of a day's work.It is invisible and remains so, maybe for twenty years.” said by Jacques Barzun
Teaching is a long period even lifelong work.Patience is one of the neceities of a teacher.Every student is special.But nobody can treat each of them according to their character since he is teaching a cla.It’s so boring to teach same material again and again and it’s so challenging to get well along with so many different people.Every teacher wants to be excellent, popular and great, but there’s always a gap between the ideal and the reality.We know that and we experience it by ourselves through three cla observation.There are all kinds of obstacles on our way to be a good teacher.We must keep learning and moving, strengthening ourselves and fighting.With patience, insistence, perseverance, we never give up.In the past, we learnt how to learn, but now, we learn how to teach.We should keep in mind that we cultivate talents rather than produce machines.Students always should rank on the top of the list in education and I, who am going to be a member of teachers, the engineer of human soul, will work hard and be a qualified teacher.
