Good morning honorable judges, ladies and gentlemen.It’s my great honor to present my speech to you today—Magical language in cla.I remember, 11 years ago, when I stood at the teacher’s desk for the first time.My students paid no attention to me.Maybe I was too young;maybe too inexperienced;whatever the reason, the students didn’t behave at all.I felt so ashamed and helple.After a few months of teaching, I found that most of the students didn’t prepare well for cla;this made me REALLY angry until one day, I couldn’t hold my anger back!I shouted at cla “WHY ARE YOU SO LAZY！!I can’t stand your lazine!” All the students just froze.I left the claroom in tears.In the days that followed, I felt down and always had a serious look on my face.Yes, I could control the cla now, but the students and the atmosphere were stained.The students still weren’t listening to me and now no one was talking.The silence caused me to think about the way I was teaching.One afternoon I got a letter from a student.“Dear Mi Zhou,” the student wrote, “we mi your smile.The first time you entered the claroom, what we noticed was your big smile.To tell you the truth, you are not as beautiful as you were then because there’s no smile on your face…” After reading the letter, I looked into the mirror---the frown did make me ugly.I suddenly realized that it was my frozen eyes that make the students flinch;it was my stiff face that stamped out the enthusiasm in the children’s hearts.“Smile”, I said to myself.The next day, I entered the claroom with a big smile, and all the students said “Good morning, Mi Zhou.” To my surprise, the students were very active and cooperative that day.In the days that followed, I kept on working even harder.I used Flash Cards, pictures, riddles, and interesting stories to help the students learn even more.But I will never forget what the students taught me: SMILE!Smile at your students;it gives them strength and confidence;it makes them feel happy!Now my students enjoy their English leon and my smile is more sincere than ever!

There is a magical language called “A Smile.” As I look in the children’s eyes, I understand, that it’s my smile that draws us closer together, it’s my smile that fills the claroom with kindne and happine, it’s my smile that makes me a popular English teacher.It’s my smile that has made me beautiful again.So have fun in cla and smile!Smile is the magical language that can make our cla more active and attractive.Believe me!
