This paage tells us a fight in front of Troy’s gate between two heroes Hector and Achilles.Hector is very brave.Though he knew that Achilles was much more powerful than he was and he got trembling in his heart, he still stepped out of the gate and faced Achilles alone.He deserves respect in this respect.However, he lacked thought and was a little rude.If he had listened to his parents’ words and had chosen to stay inside Troy, he might have saved his life and the final result might have been different.As for Achilles, on the one hand, he is a very tough and persistent man who would not change his mind at all.This can be seen from the end where Achilles refused to make a deal with Hector and stripped Hector’s body after he died.On the other hand, he thinks highly of friendship, which can be known from the part where after killing Hector he chose to go back first to have a funeral for his friend.Besides, taking revenge for his friend is also a reason why Achilles attacked Troy.I don’t quite agree on gods’ participating in the fight.Even if Hector was doomed to death, the godde should not have helped Achilles and have tricked Hector.It’s not fair to Hector.The fight just belonged to Hector and Achilles.No others should have butted in.The result should have been decided by themselves.
