Hazards of Climate Change and Adapting to Climate Change research
In recent years, with the development of society, climate change has become more and more serious.Our earth has become more and much warmer.Global warming brings a lot of difficult problems to people's living environment.From increased temperatures and extreme weather events to rises in sea level, are now widely recognized in both scientific and policy circles.What's more with the temperature increase there will be a series of chain problem.The extreme heat will make the next century human health problems become more frequent, more generally, mainly for increased morbidity and mortality.With rising sea levels, many coastal cities faces threats to be flooded, numerous people will become homele.Therefore, we must take immediate measures to slow down global warming proce.This paper said that in addition to policies aimed at mitigation, it is also now neceary to encourage those focused on adaptation to the effects of climate change.But relying on adaptation alone without taking steps to mitigate climate change could well lead to a situation in which adaptation can only be effectively achieved at high social and economic costs.So both of the two ways are eential to reduce the threats,which the climate change presents to the social and economic growth and people's health problems.What is Adaptation?Adaptation initiatives can be claified in various ways.One useful distinction is between “planned” and “autonomous” adaptation.Planned adaptation describes the result of decisions that are based on an awarene that conditions have changed-or are about to change-and that some type of action is required to achieve, maintain, or return to a desired state.In contrast, autonomous adaptation refers to the changes that natural and(most)human systems undergo in response to changing conditions in their
immediate environment, irrespective of any broader plan or policy-based decisions.There's another question is Adaptive Capacity.A country's ability to plan, prepare for and implement adaptation initiatives is usually referred to as its “adaptive capacity”.The factors that determine such adaptive capacity include a country's economic wealth, its technology and infrastructure, the information, knowledge and skills that it poees, the nature of its institutions, its commitment to equity, and its social capital.Of course developing countries could not afford to too much to develop adaption strategies and improve adaptive capacity.So we need for Global Fund to help them.In this regard, we have got some achievements, but in the implementation of aspects to be improved.As the case for adaptation becomes stronger, progre is needed simultaneously on scientific and political fronts.Scientifically, we need to improve our understanding of how adaptation can be achieved, in particular how a country's adaptive capacity can best be enhanced.And on the political side, international efforts must continue to support adaptation initiatives by countries and communities, especially those that are the most vulnerable to climate change.We must pay more attention to the climate change, and take the neceary measures to reduce damage.In this proce we should cooperate in the world, and help the le developed countries, as we know we all live one world, the earth are our only family.References
