Nowadays, the problem of Academic Plaglarism becomes more and more serious.In order to earn academic titles, some teachers plagiarize others’ academic papers;in order to graduage smoothly, some college students plagiarize others’ graduation papers.Everything has its reason;Academic Plaglarism is no exception.First, college authorities pay too much emphasis on papers while conferring academic titles and graduation students.Second, modern technology makes it unprecedentedly easy to get information and materials.Some plagiarists who are morally corrupt can’t resist the temptation and decide to take risks.Third, the system of censorship and penalty are far from being strict, encouraging plagiarism to sme extent.Plagiarism causes many bad results.On the one hand, plagiarism infringes original writers’ rights and it is unfair for teachers and students who dno’t plagiarize.On the other hand, plagiarism may spread negative thought which in the end will ruin colleges’ fame.Therefore, I suggest college authorities should not regard papers as the only crierion on evaluating teachers and students.Besides, much stricter system of censorship and penalty should be applied.Unit 6

Low Carbon Life

Presently, a new lifestyle called Low Carbon Life is spreading every corner of the world.People believe that if they consume le resource, the living conditions will be better.The appearance of this trend is mainly due to the worsening environment on earth.Human beings are exhausting the energy resources and emitting greenhouse gases,which changed the earth’s climate and led to a series of serious consequences.Therefore, it’s everyone’s responsibility to live a Low Carbon Life to protect our earth.How to realize it? In the first place, the government should advocate a no-car day every week, because cars not only waste energy but also cause serious air pollution.Citizens should be encouraged to take public transportation, or just ride a bike or walk.Besides, people had beeter not use disposable plastic bages but use bags chich can be reused again and again.Moreover, we should try every means to save energy in our daily life.We ought to put out the light the moment we leave a room, turn off the tap in time, and reuse our textbooks and so on.Unit 7

Dear Zhang Hong,Congratulations on your admiion into Renmin University of China.Here I’d like to share with you some of my experience and opinions about college study.College study differs greatly from high school in the following aspects.Firstly, university allows students more freedom and expects them to take responsibility for their own decisions, actions and lifestyles.The second major difference lies in the way of teaching.We were supposed to memorize a lot in high school whiel university profeors aim to develop students’ critical thinking and practical skills.Of course, different teaching approaches and focuses lead to different learning strategies in university.I remember having a hard time adapting to the new environment in the first semester.In order to meet the course requirements and deadlines, I set up my own schedule and stick to it.Whenever we are to learn something new, I always ask myself why and how.Besides reading and thinking independently, I find discuion quite helpful for better understanding.Best wishes for your university study!
