What a brainstorm!

The Hours whose idea of structure is really special ,creative and complex is a great shocker to our thinking.With the lens frequently switching, the film connects three separate but parallel stories of three women in different times together succefully by means of little obvious warning lines.And there are some small plots which smooth the structure of the film.When Virginia says “Today, I will buy some flowers on my own”,which is the first croing of the three women.After this ,the lens switch to Laura who is reading a book named Mrs.Dalloway.She just read this area that Mrs.Dalloway will buy some flowers and finds her husband has arranged a bunch of flowers in a vase.Next,the lens switch to Claria who will go out to buy flowers ,and Claria is regard as Mrs.Dalloway by others.The second connection is when Laura will commit suicide.When Laura is about to commit suicide,the lens switch to Virginia,she says she can’t die ,and then Laura changes her mind.This part indicates clearly that Laura is a role in Mrs.Dalloway.The third plot that connects Claria with other two women together is that a old women who is 20-year-later Laura shows up after the death of Richard.So at this point ,we come to make clear that Laura is Richard’s mother.And the leaving of Laura exerts a profound effort to his son.The film deftly builds a sense of synchronicity and connectedne using quick cuts of small events that happen in each figure,which really is a brainstorm to all of us ,but it worth watching!
