Competition and cooperation are two driving forces for the advancement of human civilization, without either of which succe is impoible.Competition is a way of life in today’s world, and it appears in many forms.The Olympic Games is a kind of competition, so are college entrance examinations and presidential elections.The society needs competition, which help the society make progre smoothly.For example, indivaduals and companies alike, for the sake of survival in this society, must contitue to improve their services and products.Coca-Cola is a good case in point.The ex-CEO of Coca-Cola once said that if Pepsi didn’t exist, they would have had to invent it.He believes everybody has to live in competition and is glad to embrace it because competition pushes everyone to improve themselves.Besides, we can see that because we practise the “Reform and Open” policy and bring the more wide competition into our country, our economies are injected new vitality and develop more quickly and healthily.But, the competition not always produce “win-win” solution, whichseparates winner from loser.As a result of it, some are happy and others are frustrated.And in reality, we often find in many cases competition goes hand in hand with cooperation, so while we advocate competition,we cannot forget cooperation, which undoubtedly is of equal importance.It is easy to prove true with a game, if there is no cooperation between teammates, we can never achieve victory in the competition.Human beings are social beings.No one can really exist alone in the society.If you want to play the game well, you have to play with others.Competition and cooperation are two sides of the same coin.It is unhelpful to emphasize one and neglect the other.Especially in this age of globalization, we must be able to compete to survive, while we also must cooperate to succeed.There exists a “win-win” solution: to compete as well as cooperate.
