Learning more to keep moving forward fulfills our youth.As one of the young who struggle to realize whatever on their minds, I have my own story of improving myself to a better “me”, physically and spiritually.With one more step I got away from where I came from, I’m one more step closer to where I’m heading for.Holding this faith every time I looked back, I become a person that enjoys commitments, a commitment to education, a commitment to profeion, a commitment to expertise, and probably a commitment to life.What I’m currently most proud of is that I determined to take the exam of US CPA and stay to the benchmark of my plan.The CPA trip taught me to cut out the beginning and the ending and feel and grow from the proce.Without drowning a person in the river of worries and anxieties, people enjoy more in the “trip” and do better at the end of it.It was my second year when I was notified to take the first part of US CPA exam-Financial Accounting and Reporting.After a short fuse of the excitement, I, just like all the others, started worrying about the preparation work.I was staring at a book of 1,400 pages and telling myself that should be finished in one month, not to say to mock exams awaiting.Something like a quiting thought came into my head just like a 180 degree turn in my attitude.Then came the word “commitment”.With that word written down in mind, I was looking back all the years I’ve been through and going to be through.Within maybe le than a second, I knew it was time to push myself to some new extremes that I never thought I would hit.I joined the study group at my own university, ordered the video leons online(Roger CPA), and rearrange everything on my schedule just to make sure I can allocate as much time as I had to the study plan.Then the trip began.On the first page of the study life, a bad signal that your life is ruined was indicated-no friends, no online talks, no email checks, no nothing.And life suddenly was broken into hours of video lesion, multiple choices, and material readings.All the commitments that I promised myself made me just grounded enough to take that, to take this hard experience.However, enthusiasm is never enough to ride the ship.After the first week of fighting against the profeion knowledge, I realized that I was on a low pace, or to say an inefficient pace.Fortunately, positive actions were taken afterwards.I talked with people on my study group, checked my problem with a profeional teaching crew, and reviewed my study habit.The style of “mad dog” was abandoned, and I moved on to a “reading and researching” style, which was proven to fit me better.So with six hours of textbook reading, FASB code researching, I began to have a solid understanding of the purposes behind each principle and managed to memorize.Four hours of mock exams per week would be just good enough to take a person to the test center.Something was also there, to help a person excel in the exam, such as time management, good materials, and a solid background as an accounting person.Academic succe is never the le for anyone who’s shooting for the exam or wants to take him or herself to the profeion, but, back to what I’m saying;commitment is always the first step you take to go further.With a strong commitment to whoever is concerned, to whatever it takes, you’ll be on the way towards your dream.What I’m really proud of myself is that I realized this at 24-all the enthusiasm, hard work, energy, and happine, come out of just a commitment.2.PwC sets priority on developing our people's project management skills in accordance with client expectations and profeional standards.Please identify and a major activity/project you undertook and describe what it was and how you managed the project.Project management skills are neceary almost everywhere, especially where there is a specification.I was serving as a communicator for China Busine Network, where there is customer expectations;was asked to perform the bidding competition for traveling package contracts, where there is customer satisfactions;and was demanded to offer a US packaging industry financial analysis report for 2009, where there is a decision-making usefulne.Project management happens anytime during the busine.The first time I learned about project management was when I was asked to help create ideas of giving names to the buildings in my college-Shanghai University of Finance and Economics.With the 90 anniversary of SHUFE coming, the principal decided to declare the new names for our campus buildings instead of naming them by numbers like before.Fortunately, because the school of arts did pretty well before in similar tasks, I, as an administrator in the student union, was aigned for this job as the project leader.We were given two months to submit two solution packages.And the ideas accepted would be disclosed right after the anniversary.In our first meeting with co-workers on my team, we made our outline for the personnel, timeline, and work plan.Our team, later, was composed of five student union members, two teachers who knew pretty much about our university’s history and one teacher who offered executive supports.In the first week we refined our work plan to detail, including getting naming ideas from other universities and obtaining opinions from the campus.Later a thorough research work was undertaken among Fudan University, Tongji University and Shanghai International Studies University before any idea came into shape.In the third week the team began to brainstorm the ideas.Our strategy was that we follow two principles to create the original solutions, either by history or by function.After a one-week brainstorm with school history masters on team, the ideas were getting in shape finally.Also, the “function” names were ready in position as an optional alternative.Then in the second month, the opinion research job was on its way.We applied three channels for collecting.First, questionnaire among campus;second, trial-disclosure on school campus;third, two official meetings with school executives.Everything went awkward through every channel.Besides motivation to co-workers and promises to the executive, we again did a thorough study of SHUFE since its “birth”and tried whatever to penetrate our history into the ideas.The final plan was accepted two weeks later and is now in use-Red Tile Tower for the old dean’s office, Yuheng Lou for the old Building No.1, Jing Si Yuan for the dome of law school.Of course, they were all paed with satisfactions from the deans, the students, and ourselves.The “naming” project was the first time I was really in charge of a real project, and it went well.All the paion, profeionalism, teamwork spirits, and communication skills help a person manage a project.What’s more, a commitment to serve in accordance with others’ expectations is always a must.th

3.PwC aims to maintain high standards of profeionalism.Please describe a situation when you were engaged in a task where you took a different approach or had a different opinion from others.Please share how this contributed to the team’s succe.Something different is always something new.Being willing to take advices from people around even though when I’m right is a virtue.The different opinion that the Earth is round was worth;the different opinion that US CDO was dangerous was right;the different opinion that Yao shouldn’t have gained extra weight was right.Taking different an approach or a different opinion for the consideration of the bigger interest instead of personal feelings is what I learned since young when I was on the basketball team seeing people do oral fights for basketball tactics.Whatever how opposite their opinions are, the purpose is the same-to help the team to win.When I was asked to do a US packaging industry financial analysis report for 2009, I took an advice from my bo reluctantly, which finally again taught me to listen.I picked Bemis Inc.and Sealed Air as my two benchmarks.Due to the squeezed schedule with limited time resources, I was simply going over the numbers on the book to generate all the ratios for analysis uses.When something was wrong with Sealed Air as they showed unusual financing habit in 2008, I didn’t look into the notes and just determined the company as shifting to debt financing.During the talk about the two companies’financial positions, my bo implied that the notes would be eential in generating the report and requested me to further read them.A job is a job.Order taken.Hours of endle words about the companies activities finally gave me a new work “restructuring charges”, which indicated the company’s closure in Europe and the further effect it would take in 2009.Taking this fact into account, I changed my opinion about the company, changed the projected statements, changed the predicted stock prices, and most important, I changed my attitude.I didn’t remember when’s the last time I was taught to listen, but I wouldn’t forget this anymore.Together we move a mountain.To listen is the first step to teamwork and also a must to profeionalism.
