Adopt a Stray Dog

My topic today is “adopt a stray dog”.I’ll be explaining it by telling you how I adopted a stray dog and something about stray dogs and what we should do to help these dogs.First I’ll tell you my experience of adopting a stray dog.It was a Sunday morning when I was 18 years old.I was walking my dog in the garden when suddenly I saw a lean dog lying there which was too weak to stand a gust of wind.I went up, but it didn’t move, looking into my eyes helplely.She was a female, about 5 months old.A broken chain around her neck showed that she was abandoned by her owner.She was so thin that I could see her bones clearly.My family love animals very much, therefore, even though there was already a dog in my home and we lived upstairs, mother and I took it home.We gave her a warm litter, feed her patiently and stroke her hair softly.At first she was on guard against us, maybe she doubted if we would be like her former owner, kept her and then abandoned her.But with the good care of us day by day, she began healthier and fatter, living happily as our family member.And now she is the mother of 6 baby dogs.We can’t imagine if I haven’t seen her that morning, what her life will be like now.Now I’ll tell you something about stray dogs.In our daily life, we can often see many stray dogs around us, some of them are disabled.Most of them are abandoned by their owners because they’re old, ill and ugly.Without care from human beings, they often die from illne, hunger and cold.It is reported that the average age of stray dogs is 2-3 years old while the average age of domestic dogs is 10 years old.Some experts say that the fundamental cause of thousands of stray dogs homele is lack of people’s sense of responsibility.Some citizens haven’t made preparations for keeping a dog, when they find keeping a dog cost so much money and take so much time, they abandon them.Experts also say that stray dogs should receive birth control operations so that they won’t be more stray dogs.What we should do to help these dogs? I appeal to everyone in the world to give a hand.If you have time, if you love animals regardle of their bad look or illne, if you can make sure you’ll take care of them till the end of their life, please give them a home.They will love you more than you love them.Someone has said that god creates people, when he sees people are so lonely, he creates dogs for us.So care about stray dogs, we are on the way.
