By tangchunrong, Shanghai Jiao Tong University.Billions of years ago, the earth was a spirit who owned wonderful atmosphere, suitable temperature, and fresh air.Birds and animals were on their free lives.Trees and flowers pervaded the intoxicating fragrance...that was the harmony between man and nature.However, as time accumulated and economy developed rapidly, the man threw more pollution to the upbringing of her mother—nature.There is no eagles in the smoke sky, no fish under the polluted river.A great variety of modern machines dominated the world with heavy noise.Finally the nature couldn’t load so much hurt by the man and he was angry.There were serious environmental pollution, such as greenhouse effect, global warming, ozone depletion, soil erosion, stand storm.The man finally appreciated his revenge and began to think about the harm because of the harmony between man and nature.Fortunately, some sane people and governments began to plan for their future generations along with their own happy lives.Some people proposed to save the resources of the nature and needed sustainable development with nature.For about 2000 years ago, “Don’t drain the pond to get all the fish, don’t kill the goose to lay the golden eggs.” said by Han Fei Zi, a Chinese philosopher.It told us that we needed to take sustainable attitudes to use the resources, e.g., water, forest, etc.For the nature which owned its limited life was similar to the man.We needed to protect the resources which we survived.We should take balance between man and nature to protect our beautiful home in harmony.
