A Book Report on The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes

Sir Arthur Conan Doyie(1859-1930), the author of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, was born in Edinburgh.He was a brilliant novelist of detective and playwright in English.He is known as the father of detective fiction.When he was a child, he studied in Jesuit Preparatory School.Later, however, he turned to hate religion and began to learn medicine in University of Edinburgh and acquired Doctor of Medicine.Then he started his doctor career, but his career was not smooth.As a result he devoted himself to literature and writing of several detective novels.2、Summary of The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes:

The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes contains A Study in Scarlet, The Sign of Four, The Doings of Raffles Haw, The Memories of Sherlock Holmes, Adventures of Gerard, The Hound of the Baskervilles and The Valley of Fear.And it includes four novels and fifty-six short stories that went around Holmes.All but four stories are narrated by Holmes's friend, Dr.John H.Watson, who is a biography.For the four novels, two are narrated by Sherlock Holmes himself, and the other two are written in the third person.Sherlock Holmes is a fictional character of the late nineteenth century and early twentieth century.He is a cool-headed person who has keen perspective and deductive ability which only belongs to him.In addition, he's also very clever fencing.He usually leisurely goes back and forth in his room, smoking, waiting commiioned by the door or making experiments.But once received the case, he would immediately become a dog chasing a quarry, began locking the target and analyzing carefully and exclude those false guees, until the final truth is out!
