My Grandmother

My grandmother, neither famous nor remarkable, being only an ordinary farmer, is my most respectable person.She is seventy years old now, with a head of grey hair, slightly hunching over and her face is seamed with age.She is a few pounds low-weight for her medium frame.After she was diagnosed with the lung cancer this year, she is thinner than before, only leaving all skins and bones from head to foot.She is a typically traditional woman, having the admirable virtues.She is thrifty and economical, being generous to others while closefisted to herself.However, in some aspects, she will be strict on others.For example, she never allows others to waste food.I remembered when I was a child, every time she saw my sister and I squandered the food or we did not have all the food in the bowl, she would criticize us and inculcated us to treasure food.She told us we should cherish others’ perspiration and fruits of labor.Consequently, I am very grateful to her of her education and her influence on me.She is also very diligent.My father died when he was only forty years old and at that time, my father was 11 years old.Therefore, my grandmother need undertake the responsibility to take care of the family, raising my father and sending him to school.Neverthele, she did it all by herself instead of complaining about the work.Every time you saw her, you would notice she wore an apron.I remembered once I asked her why she was still so hard-working on the condition that our family was not poor as before.She only said one word “habit”.Until she was diagnosed with the lung cancer and with our intense demand did she get off her apron.My grandmother is such a woman.She is strong, too.Though she suffers from the lung cancer now, she never informs us of her pain, afraid of our worries.On summer, she had three times of chemotherapy and after that she became bald.We all know she was in pain, but she still played joke with us saying that she was a Buddhist nun.That is my admirable grandmother, thrifty, diligent, strong, kind, and considerate.Eventually, I hope my grandmother to be better.
