Peter Pan is written by James Matthew Barrie(9 May 1860 – 19 June 1937).James Matthew Barrie was a Scottish author and dramatist, best remembered today as the creator of Peter Pan.The child of a family of small-town weavers, he was educated in Scotland. He moved to London, where he developed a career as a novelist and playwright. There he met the Llewelyn Davies boys who inspired him in writing about a baby boy who has magical adventures in Kensington Gardens ,then to write Peter Pan, or The Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up, a “fairy play” about this agele(永恒的,不老的)boy and an ordinary girl named Wendy. This play quickly overshadowed his previous work and although he continued to write succefully, it became his best-known work, credited with popularising(使通俗化)the name Wendy, which was very uncommon previously.(though he was a prolific(丰富的多产的)author writing in a number of genres.)
Peter Pan told us a story about a mischievous(淘气的)boy who can fly and magically refuses to grow up.He spends his never-ending childhood adventuring on the small island of Neverland as the leader of his gang the Lost Boys, interacting with mermaids, Indians, fairies, pirates, and(from time to time)meeting ordinary children from the world outside. This time,Peter brings Wendy and her brothers to Never Land.On the way, they have
adventures in the fantasy setting of Neverland.Peter has a climactic showdown(紧要关头,最后一战)with his nemesis(强硬对手),Captain Hook and Peter defeats him taking Captain Hook's place. Finally,Wendy, John, and most of the Lost Boys return to London, but Peter refuses to grow up.After reading it,I am thinking that if I have the chance to have the magical adventures,I would be happy.Everyone must be familiar with the boy who doesn't want to grow up ,but J.M.Barrie's book provides an altogether more poignant(尖锐的)tale of the lives of peter and the Lost Boys.We all know characters like peter pan:irresponsible, forgetful, fiercely independent and living only for the moment will they always stay the same. But Peter is a little exaggerated stereotype of a boastful and carele boy.He is quick to point out how great he is, even when such claims are questionable ,such as when he congratulates himself for Wendy's succeful reattachment of his shadow. After reading this book, I saw nothing but love.I do believe the angel now.You are belong to the world.Let the world change you,and you can change the world, too.are featured in their lively atmosphere, humorous language and improvised performance, which vividly exhibit the interestingne of the variety show
