ID: 1232627 Good morning everyone!My name is Shi Xianfei, at the beginning of my speech, I want to introduce you a historical event occurred in 1990.After the incident ,which is so called the “Beijing Spring”, the United States called for a vote to request the world openly sanctioning China on the UN General Aembly.The results showed that only two countries voted against the sanctions.One is Cuba, and the other one, because of the negative vote, suffered stormy military, economic and diplomatic sanctions by the United States for many years.This country is Pakistan, after this event, Chinese people created a word “Pakistan iron” to represent the solid friendship of Pakistan.Topic Name: So my topic today is: A friend in need is a friend indeed!To show the friendship between China and Pakistan.Please ask immediately if you have any questions.Contents: My presentation is divided into four parts: Firstly, Pakistan introduction，then I will recall the history of the friendship between China and Pakistan，and after that I will illustrate the depth of the friendship with some typical cases, and finally let us look forward to the friendship in the future.First Part: Pakistan is short for Islamic Republic of Pakistan.1947, when the British colonialists left India, according to the people's beliefs, they divided India into India and Pakistan and the undetermined Kashmir.The capital of Pakistan is Islamabad, its official language is English and Urdu, the main religion is Islam.And the population is about two hundred million.Second Part: In 1947, shortly after Pakistan's independence, the first war between India and Pakistan broke out.At that time Pakistan was at a disadvantage, and this paive situation continued since then.In 1951, Pakistan established diplomatic relations with the PRC, But at that time ,Pakistan chose completely pro-America route, the relations with China is not very good, but also not bad.In 1962 Sino-Indian war broke out, Pakistan witneed how China defeated India very quickly and was very shocked by the Chinese army and government.The relations between Pakistan and China began to change.In 1965 and 1970, the second and the third India-Pakistan wars broke out.Faced with a stronger enemy, Pakistan got great aistances from China.Although China was also very difficult, but the Chinese government gave Pakistan what it can give.Especially during the third India-Pakistan war, the USA abandoned Pakistan ,which was its best friend in Asia.However, China supported Pakistan firmly all the time.After China’s J-6 and J-7 fighters were equipped in Pakistan, Indian Air Force suffered heavy loes and Indian army had to withdraw finally.After that, Pakistan established a profound friendship with China.And this friendship has been testified by the Beijing spring incident.Although Pakistan’s government changes a lot, but Pakistan's friendship with China has never changed.Third part: Next Let me illustrate the precious friendship with some typical examples.(1)military equipments cooperation China and Pakistan have very good military equipments cooperation, such as the research and development of Khalid tanks, f22p frigates, JF-17 fighter(or Xiaolong we call in China).Because China suffers the international arms embargo, it was said that Pakistan bought French submarines, and secretly sent one to China for the submarine research and development.Another example is that when America aainated Osama bin Laden, a new type of stealth helicopter crashed, there was a rumor that Pakistan secretly gave China the material of the helicopter, which made America very nervous and tried very hard to get the helicopter back.But this incident indicates the weakne of Pakistan’s air defense.As Pakistan’s friend, China announced an emergency donation of 50 JF-17 fighters to Pakistan.On the flight display of Pakistan National Day, a special JF-17 fighter was painted with the Chinese and Pakistani flag patterns, to show the respect for China friendship.(2)joint exercises In addition to military equipment cooperation, Pakistan and China also carried out many joint exercises.This is a photo of Pakistani and Chinese border soldiers.Very lovely, right?(3)Beijing Olympics During the Beijing Olympic torch relay, the torch was looted in some European countries.Many Chinese overseas students staged a parade to support the Beijing Olympics.A lot of students from Pakistan also participated in the parade.Pakistan prohibited anyone boycott the Beijing Olympics in Pakistani land.Both of the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan presented at the starting point to greet the Olympic torch and again waited at the final point later.(4)Sichuan earthquake In 2008, the first time after Sichuan earthquake, Pakistan provided aistance to China.Though Pakistan was not rich, but its government said, “What Chinese brothers need is what we will offer.” Besides general goods, Pakistan also donated 22,260 tents to the disaster area.The reason for the accuracy number of the tents is because Pakistan spent all tents of its Strategic National Stockpile.These tents should be used only when the country is in a crisis.And in order to make more room on the conveyor for transporting relief supplies, Pakistani officers were so squeezed in the small corner like this for several hours during the flight.Pakistani officials described Pakistan’s medical team as, “Do not worry about the medical team’s dinner and reception problems.They are going to save lives.It’s okay for them to eat leaves.”(5)High-level exchanges High-level exchanges between China and Pakistan are very frequent.The Pakistani President even promised to “visit China every three months’’, he also bowed to the Chinese guard of honor with respect.In 2011 when President Hu Jintao visited Pakistan, such slogans could be seen everywhere in Pakistani street.At the airport, the greeting people welcomed Hu Jintao with the flags.If carefully, you will find the Chinese national flag was changed to six stars, I think the meaning of this is self-evident.Just a few days ago, Premier Li Keqiang visited Pakistan.When Li Keqiang's plane entered the airspace of Pakistan, Pakistan Air Force sent 6 JF-17 fighters to escort Li’ plane.And Pakistani President and Prime Minister greeted Li’s arriving at the airport.This is the highest standard in Pakistan.These examples vividly show the preciousne of the friendship.You might be impreed by Pakistani enthusiasm and sincerene.Last Part: Finally, let us look forward to the friendship in the future.(1)more extensive cooperation With Premier Li Keqiang's visit to Pakistan, the cooperation of the two countries will be more extensive, involving 8 areas, such as politics, economic, marine, aerospace and so on.China formally took over the Gwadar Harbor.In the future a high speed railway may be constructed between China and Pakistan, and then China's energy lifeline will be more secure and reliable.Pakistan has also become the fourth foreign users of Beidou satellite navigation.(2)folk friendship However, the folk friendship between the two countries is more important.In 2011, BBC held a global survey on the negative view of China, the results showed that the smallest proportion country of the world's negative view of China is Pakistan, only 3%, even lower than our own.In 2013, according to the Phoenix reports , the highest proportion country of the positive view of China is also Pakistan.So the China-Pakistan friendship has already deepened in Pakistani people’s heart.On the other hand, we are very pleased to see that in China, more and more people begin to pay attention and understand the friendship.And I believe that when the people of the two countries are able to love each other, and cherish this friendship.The good relations between China and Pakistan will last forever.When we look back this friendship and appreciate it, we can fully understand the meanings of the proverb “A friend in need is a friend in deed”.Without the older Chinese leaders’ sincerely efforts and pay, we might not have a such reliable friend and brother in the international community.A Pakistani friend wants me to tell you this sentence: Pakistan don't like China friendship, Pakistan love China friendship.At last, I would like to use a word in the Li keqiang’s speech to end my presentation: If you love China, please love Pakistan.Thank you for your attention.
