现在有人主张在高等院校实施双语教育，也就是在高等院校用英语授课。如果这是英语教学的一部分，应该限于外语院校，那样才有可能，也符合学习外语的需要。如果要推广到一般高等院校，那就不是一个英语教学的问题，而涉及高等院校的教学用语问题，是一个国家主权和民主尊严的问题。解放以后在五十年代我们已经彻底消除了高等院校用外语，主要使用英语或英语和汉语夹杂授课，用英语教材这种殖民地教育的残余现象，难道我们今天要恢复这种现象？现在崇洋媚外思想有所抬头，中国人面对中国人说话要用对方不懂的英语，报刊上不断出现中国人看不懂的英文名称和术语，中央领导已经严肃地指出这是一种殖民地文化倾向，不明白为什么还要提倡。

Presents days, more people tend to worship everything foreign than their own.Chinese are talking in English to Chinese and English names and terms are frequently shown on newspapers which most Chinese don’t understand.Chinese central government has seriously pointed out that this is a tendency to colonial culture, so I really can’t see why some people are
