G：Thank you, Mr.Chen.What a feast you’re giving us!H: 格林夫人，请坐在这儿，坐在我夫人的旁边。（Everyone takes his or her seat.）
H: 啊，这种无色透明的酒，就是我们的茅台酒，是以出酒的地方命名的。G：That’s the way most famous liquors and wines are named, I should say.H: 茅台是贵州省一个偏僻的小地方，要不是他出的这种酒，很少会有人听说过这个地方呢！不过，现在茅台是举世闻名了。
G： Yes.It wasn’t until quite recently that I actually tried it out.H: 你觉得味道怎么样？

G： Yes.It takes time to increase the production of liquors and wines, especially the good brands, H: 你尝过这种米酒吗？叫绍兴酒。// 顾名思义，是用米酿造的。// 在中国，特别是产大米的地区，这种就非常受欢迎。G： I’d like very much to try it.H: 喝这种酒吃鱼最好。// 怎么样，先喝点茅台，然后上鱼的时候在喝点米酒？

G： I have no doubt of that.// I’ve heard people say that the food in London’s Chinese restaurants is more or le westernized.// But I can hardly tell the difference.H: 你们在伦敦吃的多半是广东菜；中国的地方很大，每个省和大城市都有自己的特殊风味。// 北京的烤鸭很出名，广州“全烧小猪”出名，四川的“香酥鸡”出名……。G： You haven’t mentioned “sharks fin”.Isn’t it one of the most famous Chinese dishes? H: 我刚要说这道菜。// 鱼翅是中国名菜之一。// 鱼翅可以有多种烹饪的方法，每个地方做鱼翅都有它特殊的风味。
G： I have heard so much about this dish that I am anxious to taste it!H: 好，鱼翅上来了，这是“鸡汤鱼翅”。(Shark’s fin in chicken soup)G： How appetizing it looks!H: 请让我把你们的酒斟满。(Please let me fill your cups)// 好，女士们，先生们，为你们的健康，干杯！……请随便吃。// 我们的筷子的优点之一，是可以随意夹喜欢吃的菜。用刀叉就没有那么方便。// 我听说西方国家的朋友们在国内不赞成在餐桌上把手伸得老长去取菜。// 但是，在中国的菜桌上，这没有什么。// 朋友们别客气，随便请！
