When I first read 《The Old Man and The Sea》of Hemingway.I was 13 years old.At that time,I just considered the book as a good story.On summer vacation of this year,I read the book again.This time,I got great benefits.The book descirables a unfortunate old fisherman.After 84-days fail of fishing,he was very hungry,so he had to go to sea and fish alone again.At this time,he fished a very big fish luckily.But all of a suudenly,a herd of sharks found the fish and took it as their food.After skilling some encircled sharks,the old man go back to fishing port finally.But at least,he found the fish was only remained some bones.The old man is unlucky,but we can also get many things from him.Such as the courage,the spirit of insisting and so on.When confronted with the sharks,the man is afraid,but only because of his will,he doesn’t give up and gain succe in the war.In contrast to the man,sometimes we are so frail:the fail of exams、study,the obstacles from life and work may make us depreed and give up at least.Everyone is unique.So the difficulties you have to face are also different.Nobody can help you and the god is just in tales.You must make up your mind and stick at it no matter what difficulties you are facing.There is a well-known saying of Charles A.Beard:When it is dark enough,you can see the stars.Difficulty is the dark in our lives and the key to overcoming it is do it again and again.I usually heard someone says:” If you could find no way out,then let it alone.Time will make it better.”Is it right?If the fisherman doesn’t go to sea to fish,he might die only because he don’t have enough food;If he doesn’t struggle,he also would be the food of sharks.Time is just the sweet poison to make you have excuse to admit you are a failure.As Helen Keller says:Although the world is full of suffering,it is full also of the overcoming of it,the god treats everyone equally,only because of the attitudes which everyone holds are different,failures and succees appeared around us.A optimistic attitude is rather important when you are caught in difficuties.We are all ordinary people,but we are all the future of the world.If we are depreed everyday,what will the world be?
There are many heros like the old man aroud us,they are ordinary,they may be a teacher,a doctor,a student or even a kid.Everyone is hero who overcomes the difficulties they confront and achieve his goal.When waking up in the morning,i tell myself that a new day is coming,forget yesterday and you will be the hero.Life just like a cup of tea,when you firstly drink it,you feel bitter and astringent,but if you keep drinking it,you will find it is so faint scent.So,just keep up doing everything until you have strain every nerve.Liking the fisherman’s fish,some loe are unavoidable in life,but I admeir the old man’s spirit:Lose the fish and save himself.Sometimes,we usually want to protect every thing we cherish.But we may couldn’t save one thing.At that time,we’d better realize what is the most important and lose the other thing to save the vital one.In fact,life is full of choices.It means you have to give up something.But this “give up”doesn’t mean you can give up whenever you are confronted with difficulties,it means abandoning some ineential minutias to catch significant things more firm.In a word:Choose it or lose more.Suddenly,I want to read the book again,so I borrowed it from the library and open the book at page 1.I kown it must cost me lots of time and energy to finish it,but there is a mind in my mind:now that I choose it,I will not give up.
