Medea’s Charm
Abstract:Medea,the prince of Colchian,help Jason to stole the golden fleece and then became his wife.However,after Jason put her away and married the other women,Medea killed the bride and her own children for revenge.Although she’s not a kind-hearted woman,she’s charm shocked us.Medea’s charm come from the unhesitation to love and struggling against her tragic fate.She makes us think more about life.Key words:Medeaunhesitate lovestrugglerevengechram
Medea is a famous sorcere in Greek mythology.She was the prince of Colchian.Medea and Janson was knew by almost everyone in western country.Medea was attracted by Jason,the leader of the Argonouts.Jason wanted to get golden fleece to gain his throne.So Jason went to Colchian to get the golden fleece.Aetes,the king of Colchian give him a difficult task and promised to give the golden fleece if he can accomplish it.Jason promised Medea marriage ,then Medea furnished him with charm to accomplish his task.However,Aetes didn’t keep his words.So Medea and Jason stole the golden fleece derictly and run away.On their way back,Medea killed her brother to prevent her father’s pursuit.Jason didn’t gain throne from his uncle Pelias after they came back.They went to anther coruntry and lived happily for 10 years.Jason,for whom she had done so much,wishing to marry to Creusa,prince of Corinth,put away Medea.She enraged at his ingratitude,called on the gods for vengeance,sent a poisoned robe as a gift to the bride,and then killing her own children and setting fire to the palace and fly away
Medea is intrepid and cold-blooded.She beyond the imagination to woman who deserved to be gentel and soft,as if a enchantied flower,spreading bloody smell.However,Medea was not only a evil woman at some measure,but also a indomitable woman who struggle against the unluky experience.It is the unique character and the againsting to her various ills of life that made her images shocked everyone.One of Medea’s charmis from the unhesitation to love.Medea betraide her country,killed her brother,gave up her prince statues in exchange for a foreigner’s love.It is an unique sacrifice that only cost Jason a few sweet words.In this mean sure,Medea was not married Jason,but love.She was not elop with Jason,but with the hope of finding
happine.She avenged Jason’s losing throne by killing Pelias.She wander here and there with her husband and give birth to two son.Her action can be regarded as efforts seek love that never stopped since she helped Jason to stole the golden fleece.She can betraied her country and killed her brother for love.She also can killed her husband’s sweetheart while the exchange solemn vows and pledges become betrayal.She avenged Jason by killing their own children.the strong feeling of love made her action shocked us.Her charming egerged.If Medea was a woman only with lovesickne,she would not has the charm that hold spellbownd.Medea is different from other woman who have unreasoning paion.The charm also from her struggle against her tragic destiny.She recognized she live ina society that woman always have tragic destiny.Although she was a potent sorcere,she can’t use her art change the world.The only thing she could do is seek her own happine and fighting with the unfair fate.There was anger in her eyes and revenge in her heart.Her methods was voilent.It is maacre,no matter for her enemy or her children.Medea combines man’s intrepid and woman’s thinking,made it a sharp sword to fight against the common customs which oppre woman.Even though we can’t defined Medea as a gentel and kind hearted woman,we can’t deny her charm too.Medea’s charm comes from her unhesitate love and her struggle against the tragic fate.She makes us think more ahout love and fate.参考文献：THE AGE OF FABLE
