我们这周主要学习与初次见面的人交际时如何进行简短的自我介绍，掌握高频率使用的日常生活用语，了解动词的总体特点和不同种类。希望通过下面的内容能使同学们加深对相关知识点的理解。
一、学习要求
1．掌握英语中自我介绍的基本模式；
2．掌握主要的日常生活用语的表达；
3．了解动词的功能，特点和种类。
二、主要内容
1．如何进行自我介绍
⑴ 介绍自己的姓名，国籍，向对方表达简短的问候。
常用的问候语包括：Nice to meet you!
How are you?
Glad to meet you!
Pleased to meet you!
Welcome to the cla/our company.⑵ 介绍时不要涉及个人隐私，如工资、年龄、家庭等，也不要询问涉及对方隐私的内容。可以直呼对方名字，没有身份等级的差别。
2．重点词汇和短语
⑴ bath 盆浴
bath是名词，其对应的动词形式是bathe（洗澡）。
常用的说法是take a bath（洗盆浴）。注意它和take a shower(洗淋浴)是不同的。
⑵ play with sth.玩某种东西（如玩具等）
e.g.The child is playing with some toys. 也可说play with sb.与某人玩
e.g.He likes playing with his good friends.⑶ be different from 与……不同
这个短语应用的比较频繁，用于两者之间的比较。
e.g.My job is quite different from yours.注意这里的yours 指的是your job.Life in the USA will be different from what you expect. 表达与此相反的意思与……相同的短语为：the same as
e.g.Mary doesn’t look the same as before.⑷ rinse off 冲洗，漂洗掉
e.g.I rinse off the soap with warm water. rinse sth.out 冲洗，洗刷干净
e.g.Rinse the cup out before use.⑸ soothing 放松的e.g.Music is soothing and relaxing to the mind.It is so soothing to enjoy the beautiful garden.⑹ stre 压力
既可作名词压力也可作动词，给……压力。
e.g.He couldn’t withstand the stre and gave up his career.He was being streed before he took part in the final examination. 此外，stre 有“强调”之意。
e.g.The teacher lays great stre on the importance of English.⑺ get rid of 摆脱，除掉
后面既可接人也可接物
e.g.He tried to get rid of the visitors before his friends came.They get rid of all the old furniture. 此外rid yourself of sb./sth.有从……中解脱之意。
e.g.After you rid yourself of fear you may feel released.⑻ clean up 收拾整洁，清理
e.g.It's your turn to clean the claroom up. clean up 还有赚大钱的意思。
e.g.This film should clean up the box offices. clean sth.up 清除犯罪及不道德行为；整顿
e.g.The new mayor decided to clean up the city.⑼ stop by(顺便)拜访
e.g.If you have any problems please stop by our office.I just wanted to stop by and offer some help.⑽ out of stock 售完
一般跟在be动词之后，表示一种状态
e.g.The white boots you like are out of stock. 知识扩展：out of season 过时out of service 失效 out of sight 看不见
⑾ freeze 冷藏，结冻
既可作及物动词也可作不及物动词，作不及物动词时基本含义是冷藏，结冻，作及物动词时基本含义是使……结冰，冻住。
e.g.When the thermometer is below zero water will freeze.The cold wind has frozen the water in the pool last night. 注意：这个词是不规则变化动词，其过去式是froze，过去分词是frozen。
frozen 可用作形容词，意为冷冻的、冷藏的，常与食物搭配，例如frozen peas. 令人毛骨悚然可用这个词：freeze your blood；make your blood freeze.⑿ pick up

e.g.She picks up a lot of important information.③ 接人
e.g.I will pick you up at five.④ 振作精神
