seem的词义并不难理解：似乎、好像（由外观或气氛等来推断大概是……）。但如果它是连系动词，那么它的搭

配和用法就值得注意了。

一、seem后接形容词或名词（前面常有形容词修饰）。如：

She seems(to be)honest.她似乎是诚实的。

He seems(to be)a fool.他好像是个傻瓜。

His father seems(to be)a kind man.他父亲看起来像是个和善的人。

She seems to be an American.她好像是美国人。(to be不能省略)

二、seem后接动词不定式，即：seem to do / be sth sb。如：

He seems to know everything.他好像什么都知道。

She seems to be a teacher.她好像是位老师。

三、用于句型“It seems that从句”中。如：

It seems that everything went well.看来好像一切进行得很顺利。

It seems to me that he knows nothing about it.在我看来，他对那件事好像一无所知。

四、用于句型“There seems to sth”中。如：

There seems(to be)something wrong with your car.你的汽车好像有毛病。

There seems(to be)some misunderstanding between them.他们之间好像有些误会。

五、习惯用法。

Can’t seem to do似乎不能/ 无法……。如：

I can’t seem to explain to you how difficult it is.我似乎无法向你解释那件事有多么困难。

It seems so.=So it seems.似乎是那样。如：

“There will be a strike.” “要罢工了。”

“So it seems.”“好像是。”

此外，一、二条中有些句子可转换成三条中的句型，表示相同的意思。如：

The child seemed(to be)tired.=It seemed that the child was tired.那孩子好像是疲倦了。

It seems that he is lying.=He seems to be lying.看样子他好像在撒谎。
