英国新首相卡梅隆的第一篇唐宁街讲话(2010-05-12 19:59:20)Her Majesty the Queen has asked me to form a new government and I have accepted.女王陛下已经邀请我成立一个新政府，我接受了。

Before I talk about that new government, let me say something about the one that has just paed.在谈新政府之前，让我说一下过去一届政府的成绩。

Compared with a decade ago, this country is more open at home and more compaionate abroad.That is something we should all be grateful for.与十年前相比，我们国家内部更为开放，对外更包容，更有爱心。我们应该为此心存感激。

In terms of the future, our country has a hung Parliament, where no party has an overall majority, and we have some deep and preing problems: a huge deficit, deep social problems and a political system in need of reform.未来的日子里，我们国家面对的是一个悬空议会。没有一个政党在议会拥有大多数席位，我们的问题迫在眉睫：巨额赤字，严重的社会问题，以及需要改革的政治体制。

And I want to help try and build a more responsible society here in Britain, one where we don't just ask, 'Where are my entitlements?' but, 'What are my responsibilities?'
