Distinguished foreign teachers,leaders and colleagues: On this wonderful morning in July, we gather here to learn more about English.First, let me ,on behalf of 60 teachers who come from rural middle schools in Su Yu District, extend a warm welcome to the two foreign teachers who have come to teach us in the following 12 days.Also, we are sincerely thankful to the leaders at Bureau of Education in SuYu District for giving us an opportunity to study English and talk with foreigners.My name is Liu Wei teaching at Wang Guanji Middle School.When studying English at middle school, I was taught to remember words, phrases and grammar rules in order to get high marks.Both my teachers and I paid little attention to listening and speaking, as a result, I’m afraid of speaking English with my clamates and friends.As an English teacher, I was not confident in myself at first, and I’m afraid of making mistakes when communicating with foreigners.I think, Most teachers here like me have this common problem.But I believe, now comes the chance and we find the ways to deal with such problems.Through 10 days’ training, we are students.We can ask and answer.At the same time, we must listen carefully, make notes attentively and talk with our foreign teachers as much as poible.We are sure to improve our oral English and teaching skills.As the saying goes, “ Rome was not built in a day”.To have confidence in English teaching, we should continue to learn English during our spare time after training.We can read English novels, listen to BBC and watch English films.I strongly believe that we will know more about English-speaking countries and keep our children interested in English.Let us put most of our efforts into English learning and teaching.At last,we wish our foreign teachers will have fun during this period of teaching and visit, and learn much about our culture.Thank you.
