Hello,everyone.My name is.........,I’m a sophomore of bio-technology.Today I’m great honored to introduce Parnais palustris L.,whose Chinese name is MEIHUACAO(梅花草).By its name,we can learn that it might look like plum bloom.Parnais palustris L.belongs to ,it often lives in the mountains,forests,and lawns.In our country,this plant spreads into Hebei,Shanxi Shanxi,Gansu province,and northeastern area.Parnais palustris L.is a kind of perennial herbals.Its height can live up to 50 centimeters.Its root is a brown irregular lumpish with many fibrous roots.Its stem is cylindrical,whose length ranges from 3 to 27 centimeters and whose diameter varies from one to two Millimeters.Besides that, the stem is so crispy that you can fracture it easily.If we watch it carefully,we can find that there are many edges.In the middle of its scape, there is one leaf,which is oval or heart-shaped and doesn’t has a petiole.Please look at this,there are some clusters of basal leaves.The top of these leaves is tip,and the bottom is heart-shaped.Each of them have a long petiole.The leaves
of the stem alternate or spiral arrangement.there are Leaf sheath in the base.Its flowers are bisexual,which live on the top of plant.They are white or light yellow and look like plum bloom.The flowers have five oblong sepals and 5 petals,which are oval and actinomorphic.In each flowers, there are 5 stamens.The style of its pistils is quite short and made up of 4 carpels.Its fruits belongs to oval capsule like an egg.Its florescence is from July to August and fruit period is from August to September.This plant can reproduce many seeds at a time.Parnais palustris L.has a sweet flavor,but it tastes slightly bitter.It has a good function that it can treat the cold and coughing.That’s all I want to share with you.Finally,please remember me and remember Parnais palustris L.Thank you!
