Attitudes to life Good evening, well-beloved judges and dear teachers and schoolmates.I am a common girl, my name is Suli.Thank you Jacky,my English teacher who gives me the chance to make a speech here.The topic of my speech is “Attitudes to our life” and I will share a story I read on the blackboard---A special gift.A very good carpenter was ready to leave his job because he wanted to spend the last part of life with his family.He told his bo his plan of retirement.His bo was sorry to see his best worker go and asked if he could build just one more house for memory for the last time.The carpenter said yes to it,but it was easy to see that his heart was no longer in his work.He had lost his interests and has used le time and worse materials in buiding the house.It was not a wise way to end his career like that.When the carpenter finished his work his bo came to see the new house.To his suprise, the bo gave the front-door key to him.“This is your house,”the bo said, “my gift to you.” What a shame!If the carpenter had only known he was building his own house, he would have done it all so differently.Now he had to live in the house he had built badly.Sometimes, we are the same as the carpenter.Usually for the important points we do not give the job our best efforts.We build our lives in a bad way.Then when we look at the situation we have built we find in shock that we are now living in the bad house we have built for ourselves.If we had realized,we would have done it differently.My dear schoolmates, just think of yourself as the carpenter.Each day you hammer a nail, place a board, or build a wall, please build carelully.Even if you live in it for only one day, even only one mintute,one second, you should live there happily.Someone once said, “Life is a do-it-yourself project” Who could say it more clearly? Your life today is the result of your efforts in the past, and you life tomorrow will be the result of today’s efforts.Every single man in the world has his duty in his position.Howerer long you are in this position;you should do your own job with 100 percent efforts.If you are a policeman, you must take your responsibility to keep the people safe.If you are a doctor, you must try your best to save your patients.If you are a famer, you must be devoted to taking care of your crops.If you are a mother, you must love and raise your children at anytime.If you are a teacher, you must pour all your efforts to teach your students If you are a student, you must spare no efforts to study hard to struggle for your future.So, my dear schoolmates, we are all students and must take our responsibility to study as hard as poible.Right now, right here, action!That’s all , thanks for your listening!
