Face Consumption
Today I am very glad to be here to share with you my ideas of face consumption.What is face consumption? It is what everyone experienced.Sometimes face consumption would be rather common.These purchases, which are not for practical needs but merely to show off, are called “face consumptions.” One example on the net, “How to buy a famous brand package with the least money”, the answer is to buy
quality knockoff, a small store receipt and a brand-name shopping paper bag.Like this, some people cannot afford brand-name products,but use the package, logos or other proofs to gratify their vanity.Some are even finding top brand labels, instruction books and receipts sold online.Which fields does it exist in? A recent survey of some 1,100 people indicated, 84.2% surveyed thought face consumptions were popular among young people around.The survey results also indicates that clothes, gifts and cars rank as the top three product categories in which “face consumption” occurs, followed by electronic goods, catering, liquor and tobacco, cosmetics and entertainment.According to the World Luxury Aociation, the Market consumption amount of luxury goods was up to 10.7 billion us dollars in 2010, 25% of the globe.And China will replace Japan to become the biggest luxury goods consumer in the world in the coming year.Why is it so common? According the report, there is several factors influenced the consumption behavior:
the most significant one is the worship of wealth and the preference of showing off wealth.Some thought many people judge somebody by appearances in a degree, for example, when you go to the mall and buy clothes, if you wear normal, the salesperson usually does not make the agreeable to you.Under these impreion , some people go toanother extreme, then always use brand-name goods to the show off their wealth and status, even use the knockoffs or logos to gratify their vanity, and make sure the other people believe that she or he is wealthy.The second one is money worship.Some people believe material or money is one of simplest way to help them get respect, they use consumption , like to buy brand-name clothes, to feel the respect and approval.The other factors includedthe traditional ideology“face saving” ,advertising gimmick and conformist mentality，were also affected the face consumption behavior.Spending money on saving face?Everyone has his own points as I do.But I am sure thatevery consumption should be receivable and suitable for you , not just pursue the brand-name or give your financial burden.Every one of us experienced the face consumption, maybe in the past, maybe today, even in the future!Thank you for attention ,Wish you all good life!
