Food safety in China
Ladies and gentlemen，It's my pleasure to represent our team for the speech.Our topic is food safety in China.In recent years, with the incidence of cancer increasing, people pay more attention to health.However, food safety iues are continuously emerging, the major food safety incidents occur every year, not only seriously affect people's physical health, but also affect China's economic development, food exports, social stability and a series of iues.Therefore, we should keep a eye on food safety.Let's look the status of food safety.1: Some vegetables, fruits contain pesticides and other chemical component, which result the food safety is very worrying.In agricultural production, some farmers tend to use highly toxic pesticides to spray vegetables、fruits in order to increase income, which lead directly to the exceive pesticide residues in fruit and vegetables.As a result, consumers certainly will suffer big harm health.For example, in 2009 the organization of Beijing had checked cherry, melon, peach, nectarine, apple in four large supermarkets.The results showed that the fruits had 17 kinds of pesticide.2: Food additives and other chemical products are exceive used in food proceing.For example, in order to make steamed bread, they use sulfur dioxide;to make rice, biscuits brightening, they use mineral oil;poultry、livestock and aquatic products contain hormones and other harmful substances;and so on.3: Inferior raw materials are used in the proce of manufacturing and proceing of food.For example, dead livestock and poultry is used in cooked meat products;waste oil is used in fried foods , in 2009, Liaoning, Shandong, Shanghai, Shanxi and other places also found powdered milk is used in production of dairy products.4: There is heavy metal pollution in food.Due to some illegal removal of waste water, some areas of drinking water and crop irrigation water sources have been a great degree of pollution, which will bring great harm to people's health.Also, some food wrapping paper, packaging bags are important source of heavy metal pollution e.Once these heavy metals infiltrated the food, people are under great potential threat after eating.There is no denying the fact that food safety is a grave problem with which all of us are confronted.Then let's explore the causes of food safety problems.1:Due to the poor food safety supervision, China's food industry is filled with serious violations, illegal production and substandard food sales.2: There are many drawbacks and problems in China's legal system of food safety, which provide a living space for many of the problems of food proceing.For example, China's food safety legal provisions are too general, difficult to operate, and these laws, regulations standard system is seriously lagging behind, some of the existing food safety standards regulations is on the low side, many of the indicators are far below the international standard, many important standard has not yet developed.3: Consumer lack common sense of food, which cause food safety problems.There are some consumers purchasing cheap food, special food, no quality aurance food.At the same time, a lot of consumers lack the knowledge of scientific consumption of food, which may lead to some diseases, and even lead to the occurrence of food poisoning events.Therefore, it is high time that we take some measures to deal with food safety problems.1: The government should earnestly perform duty, strengthen the safety supervision of food quality.It means the government should strengthen the food supervision: market acce control, improve the food market acce threshold, production management, to effectively regulate the behavior of food producers, resolutely banned undocumented unlicensed production, inspect food resources, update testing equipment, and so on.2: China's food safety legal system should be improved.We should establish a scientific and perfect food safety standard system.We can learn from the advanced experience of some developed countries, to further refine and standardize the legal system in the field of food safety production, to develop practical and feasible food safety aspects of specific standards.At the same time, the punishment of the food safety act should be strengthened.I think, we can learn from foreign huge compensation system.3: The media should play a role to broadcast the food safety knowledge to the vast number of consumers.In this way can consumers enhance food safety awarene, improve the ability to identify problems, and consciously resist the problem of food.We can make use of the network, television, newspapers, magazines, radio and other tools to report food safety knowledge, and to timely exposure to production, sales of fake and shoddy food and some unscrupulous manufacturers and their products, the disclosure of recent food safety incidents, to protect the consumer's right to know.If we take these suggestions seriously about the food problem, I think our country's food security will be an unprecedented improvement.The brighter future is on the way.Thanks for your attention.
